Dr Helen Jones has 14 years art teaching experience. Helen achieved a 1st Class honours in Fine Art and continues to be a practicing Artist from her home studio in Chester. She completed an MA in Art Education and then completed a Doctorate in the subject. She has delivered adult art workshops nationally and offers regular art classes and workshops in Chester through her small business The Art Doctor UK founded in 2021. Helen has also taught art in Tuscany, the Congo, Rome and Finland. She has a warm and encouraging nature.

"I was on the April 25 course with Jack. Jack is very friendly, approachable and patient. He explained about the origins of abstract art and then gave us some warm up exercises. We then experimented with composition using black acrylic before moving onto colours. We had a lot of opportunities to try different techniques and Jack gave us demonstrations on using brushes and other tools. We moved into our canvases and Jack helped with colour mixing and provided an objective view on our pieces. Would definitely recommend this workshop and would consider doing again. "

"A relaxed creative day. I came away with 7 paintings one on a proper canvas which is already hanging in my kitchen. Short bits of info and demonstrations from Jack with plenty of time for doing. Jack gave helpful suggestions to each of us individually to take our creations to the next step. Lovely to work on big surfaces with lots of freedom to explore with no need to think about mistakes or right/wrong. We worked in quick drying acrylics so we could layer up our masterpieces quickly. A fun day. "

"Floral Illustration 'Global Blooming' was an excellent workshop for someone like me who didn't believe I had an artistic bone in my body after teacher at school made that very clear to me many years ago. This was a wonderfully mindful session in a supportive environment, which eroded that long held belief. Clare Curran's enthusiasm for the topic was not only encouraging but a delight to be part of.
