Description

Back by popular demand! Life drawing has been used throughout history by artists as a way to observe the human figure, from Da Vinci and Michelangelo to Degas and Egon Schiele. It is an excellent way to build confidence in drawing and practice key artistic skills such as observation. Led by artist Katie Tyson, who says “I love the freedom of life drawing, the human body is such an interesting and ever changing subject! I use life drawing as a chance to try new techniques, to loosen up my style and experiment. I am looking forwards to sharing some of my experience and techniques, so join me for a chance to improve your skills in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.” In this Life Drawing taster evening we will draw from a live model (the fabulous Julie), exploring a range of drawing techniques- helping to build confidence in drawing the human figure. Developing skills in- Figure drawing Observing a live, moving model Experimenting with materials to draw with Rapid drawings and longer poses. We will start the session with a series of very short poses. Exercises can include, using wet and dry materials, strong and clear line, continuous line drawings and not looking at the paper all whilst drawing.
