Sue M reviewed: Fused glass workshop at The Butterfly Effect Studio near Halford

"I attended one of Helen’s 2 hour fused glass workshops and it was fabulous. She is a wonderful tutor who clearly knows how to bring out the artistic talent in everyone. Drawing on her expertise, Helen provided a rich assortment of materials for us to explore and use. The result was an array of items reflecting the individuals who crafted them and each one was simply beautiful - a lastingly memory of a joyous experience. With lots of tips and advice and clearly a passion for sharing her skills, Helen’s encouragement and enthusiasm for the medium shines through - I am now totally hooked! Thank you Helen :)"

Butterfly Effect Studio responded:

"Hi Sue, that’s a really thoughtful review, thanks for taking the time to submit it. It was so lovely to meet you at the village hall and I’m delighted you enjoyed it. It sounds like you’ll be taking your explorations into fused glass further so please just shout if I can help with anything. I think you’ve got ‘the glass bug!’, I did warn you, it’s addictive! Hope to see you at another workshop once things settle down with your busy schedule."

We’ve all went away happily tired with a number of enamelled pieces. Thank you, Katie."

Henry Wallace reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"Excellent day spent making a Japanese style cleaver with Jon - his expertise and knowledge really shone through and helped us to make a really unique but functional tool over the course of the day. Jon was incredibly friendly and kind and made sure that the day passed without issue, rectifying any mistakes we made but making sure that we were still fully in control of how the knife turned out. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking into it."

Helen Lord reviewed: Spoon Carving Taster Session

"Had a great time at the Radical Bakers Festival in Shropshire last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed carving a spoon with Mike. He was excellent as a teacher, very patient and very thorough in his demonstration of different carving techniques and very much with health and safety in mind at all times. I had a great time and now have a new-found admiration for the makers of the humble wooden spoon. I never knew so much work went in to making one. Thank you Mike."

Louise Miller reviewed: Felt Making Pictures (Halifax)

"I was bought this class as a mother's day present from my son. I have done some felting before and needed help to progress with my skills. Despite also having a complete beginner in on the same day, Jo tailored her teaching for both our needs and guided us to create our own individual pieces. With lots of different materials available I was able to experiment with textures and fabrics in a way that I can't at home, giving me insight into what I might want to try in future. I left with a piece of work I am very happy with, and some new skills and ideas. A fun and informative class. Thank you Jo"
