Iurie reviewed: Furniture making course: Fundamentals of Furniture Making Part 1 (beginner)

"When I made my first step into workshop I thought I know a lot about woodworking, when I made my step out I realised that I actually don’t know anything. These courses are pure gold, I enjoyed every minute of them and learned a lot of useful tips. Just can’t wait to finish my started project. Class wait for me, I’m coming!!! ?? "

Farnham School of Furniture Making Ltd responded:

"Hi Lurie, it's great to hear your feedback, thank you! I am very happy you enjoyed the course and I look forward to welcoming you back to the Workshop. Best wishes, Aidan "

Emily Stammers reviewed: One day Traditional Lead Stained Glass Course

"My parents bought me a lead workshop with Cheryl for my birthday and today I finally got round to going. The workshop was fantastic in every way. Cheryl is a beacon of light and wacky in the best way possible, her work is fantastic. Her classes are small so she has enough time to help everyone 1 on 1 and has many ways to make things easier or more complex depending on your needs. She has a brilliant set up ( not to mention a beautiful house ! ) and had a wonderful variety of refreshments available to everyone. Time flew by I was having so much fun and I am so pleased with the piece I have made. As someone who’s work life is very stressful, taking a day out to enjoy a craft, led by such a passionate tutor, was exactly what I needed !. Could not recommend more !"

Mary reviewed: Lino Printing on Fabric Day with Oxford Linocut Workshops - Fabric Printing

"What a wonderful day! Claire was so friendly, welcoming and above all so knowledgeable. Her teaching style was calm, reassuring and motivating. The whole workshop was kept perfectly on track without ever once feeling rushed. I was so pleased with the printed fabric I went home with. I would love to return to try the printing on paper workshop as well. I can't recommend highly enough. Thank you Claire."

Philippa reviewed: Lino Printing Day with Oxford Linocut Workshops

"A really memorable course. Claire is very patient, calm and knowledgable. She took us through the various lino cutting techniques and helped as we all started our own designs. The end results were all fabulously individual and used so many of the techniques Claire had taught us. All taking place in a wonderfully rural studio setting with chickens running about outside! I will be back again, for sure."

Barry Blackwell reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"We wanted a day where our son could do something practical with their hands and have the thrill of producing an item themselves. If you are in the same position- this is a great course! Great father and son day out in my case (mother/ daughter would work equally well - as would any combination between). Mort is a fantastic tutor and has right balance of letting folk develop and make errors and stepping in to help (retrieve). This is good, as it forces you to try, rather than having it done for you and therefore you can claim that the end product was substantially yours. What’s more you have his full attention- he doesn’t do his own work or answer his phone etc - you are his sole focus for the whole day (a mark of professionalism). Very friendly, you can ask any questions, and he will expand so you have understanding of the technique and history. I absolutely recommend the day. Leaving aside the learning experience- it’s just a great day out and experience - with an expert - which is completely different from the ‘day job’ and you can loose yourself in it. PS lovely setting- thanks Mort."

Trudy reviewed: Spoon carving taster session

"I really enjoyed this course. Three hours really well spent. To produce a carved spoon from a bit of wood using an axe and whittling knives was brilliant. Dave is a great teacher who clearly knows and enjoys his craft. I liked the step by step approach of him demonstrating what to do at each stage and then letting me try. He would also show me a different technique if I found something difficult. Great experience and I would thoroughly recommend it. Thanks Dave"

Robert & Rachel Powell reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"Not our first visit to Lucy's workshop and as previous reviewers have mentioned it probably won't be the last. This time my wife and I made our wedding rings and Lucy did an excellent job of providing us with information relating to design and consulting with us on our designs prior to the course to ensure we had the correct materials and that we would have enough time on the course to complete them. Lucy makes you feel welcome and at home in her workshop and gardens and we had a great time learning the techniques and putting them into practice under Lucy's close supervision. We couldn't recommend her highly enough, particularly if you enjoy learning and making things or want to become a jeweller yourself. "

Exclusive Jewellery responded:

"Hi Robert and Rachel Thank you for your lovely review. I'm so glad we got such good results for you both, and hope to see you again one day. Lucy "

The instruction was excellent really well paced and individual . I can not recommend this course enough . "

Gemma B reviewed: Mosaic Birds 'n' Bugs

"Absolutely fantastic!!!! I booked this on a whim - my daughter loves birds so I thought it would be a fun mummy daughter date… I have to say this exceeded my expectations. We had the most wonderful time sorting through broken crockery oohing and aaaahhing at the patterns, sharing ideas, with each of us finding little gems in our ceramic stash that another person would enjoy. It’s the best thing I’ve done with my daughter, we enjoyed it so much we’re talking about buying our own tools and shopping charity shops for beautifully patterned plates together. Lisa is also a great host. I was amply caffeinated throughout and there were even home made buns. We’ll book onto this class again happily."

Creative Avenue York responded:

"Love this!! So pleased that I've tweaked your creative spark and you hope to pursue it. Hunting for bits and pieces and hoarding them is also part of the hobby! Look forward to creating with you again. Lisa-marie."

"I booked this course for my 13 year old son to try something different during the summer holiday. Simon made us both welcome. His workshop is well equipped and clean. My son has ASD but Simon’s approach was clear with lots of visual instruction so my son had no difficulty in following. He learnt a lot during the 3 hours and throughly enjoyed the workshop. "

Erica reviewed: Lino Printing Day with Oxford Linocut Workshops

"The course was perfectly structured for relative beginner to lino printing. Claire was really well organised, had everything set up when we arrived and kept the day flowing. She was helpful and supportive to individuals as well as keeping the group engaged. Some people had more illustrative experience than others but it really didn't matter as you could work to your own level. And the surroundings with Claire's amazing prints around you just further fed your wish to explore the subject further."

"Wonderful day and experience! Never imagine that it can be so easy and interesting to try welding. In one day we done two types of welding. Tuition was great and clear! Can't wait for more! "

Allied Welding School responded:

"Thank you so much for your kind comments Raminta, it is very much appreciated. To answer your question the next step would be either a one to one training day (as many as you feel you require) with another one of our inhouse certificates or we have just been accredited with City & Guilds to teach all three processes MIG, TIG & MMA (Stick) welding, this will give you a industry recognised certificate. Please feel free to call me at the Allied Welding office number or on the mobile number for out of office hours. Kind regards David "
