Michael R reviewed: Spoon Carving with Touchwood Glasgow

"Was given this course as a gift for my birthday. I had a fantastic day, from meeting Robert and the other carvers to finally coming out with a spoon. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with plenty of space and time for learning and figuring out how to get a fresh log to turn into something resembling a spoon. All of the tools are provided, are very sharp, and are clearly explained before you're let loose on the unsuspecting wood. It was a really great day, and I'm very grateful to Robert for the teaching, and to my wife for the gift. Highly recommend."

Diane and Martyn reviewed: Half Day Taster Stained Glass Workshop - for 121, 2 or 3 (friends)

"Thank you so much Ruth for a perfectly relaxed 3 hour 1-1 glass art starter session that I purchased for my partner. He really enjoyed it, and was very impressed with the tulip you helped him to create which is now hanging on our tree. I also enjoyed sitting in your garden (having a little peak occasionally!) and kept company by your lovely dogs Luna and Willow - particularly little, lively Luna! Thank you also for the regular offer of drinks which was very much appreciated. The whole 3 hours was neither rushed or stressful - you are a lovely person to be taught by. Having already purchased a starter kit, Martyn is now thinking about his next project! Thank you once again, Diane and Martyn x"

Blue Skies Glass Studio responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review, it was lovely to have you both here whilst Martyn was creating his rather stunning tulip! I'm excited to see what other creations he will be making going forwards, many thanks x"

Tom reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"I spent the day with Jon on his new axe forging experience. What an absolute pleasure! Jon is very passionate about blacksmithing. He's an excellent teacher. He took me through each step of the process involved in forging my own axe head and carving my own handle. I've come away with a fantastic day to remember, a unique axe - that will cut ;-) and the feeling that I could actually do lots of the steps involved in replicating this process with the right equipment. I can't recommend Jon's experience days highly enough. I'll certainly be coming back for another session in the future."

Helen Donahue reviewed: Create a beautiful needle felt portrait of your dog with Sophie Wheatley of All Things Felt & Beautiful

"I started this course about a year ago. I was unable to continue due to medical reasons. This is, by far, the best course I've ever seen. I was able to needle felt my little Chiweenie and start the Schnauzer, before I had to stop. I'm hoping to be able to take up where I left off, in the next few months. Sophie is an amazing teacher and gives a wealth of information I've not seen anywhere else. Thank you, Sophie, for what I've learned so far from you. I'm hoping to continue this course within the next few months."

Darren reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"Had an excellent day and covered quite a lot of ground in terms of skills. There were 6 attendees on the day, 3 of them were on day 2 of their longer course, but seeing what they were being taught gave me great insight into how what I was learning could be applied/adapted. Nigel demonstrated everything with ease, and was open to any type of question. Some of what we did was "now copy what I just demoed", but Nigel also gave some freedom to let the skills meet any artistic ideas we had of our own. I was a little apprehensive about what I would learn in one day. but came away with a lot more knowledge (to be turned in to skill with practice) that I ever expected. Nigel has a passion that shines through, and his straight talking down to earth personality makes it easy to absorb. Brilliant day! "
