Jacqueline Biddlecombe reviewed: Kintsugi Workshop for beginners

"This Kintsugi afternoon workshop was really enjoyable and the time just whizzed past! I took a rather ambitious broken vase to repair, but Lucy was very encouraging and supportive and I completed the project I took with me. I am really delighted with the finished item, and my cat has been banned from going anywhere near it again. The process is interesting and I would recommend having a go. The rural venue is beautiful and a lovely place to spend a few hours. "

Sarah D reviewed: Table Loom Weaving Workshop - Dobby & Rose

"I absolutely loved taking Rebecca’s table loom weaving class. It was such a good intro to the craft and the loom itself. Rebecca was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also passionate about the craft and was patient with those of us weaving for the first time. I’m totally hooked as a result of her class and plan to continue taking weaving courses moving forward. I’d highly recommend taking a course from Rebecca and I’d sign up in a heartbeat again. "

"Fabulous day. Not just learning how to make charcoal and that you don't need a woodland to do that! But also a delicious lunch made by Christina and excellent charcoal drawing tuition by Kim. Judith reviewed: Traditional upholstery assessment before starting a course.

"I attended an assessment pre starting an upholstery course with Peter. Having had no previous experience, it was well worth the time. It gave an opportunity to understand what the course would involve; what I could expect to learn, the commitment required, as well as the terms of the course. Peter was very informative and helpful, enabling me to evaluate my needs and options. I am looking forward to acquiring my project and starting the actual course."

Anna reviewed: Make paper from wild and garden plants

"Bryan was an amazing teacher. I’ve learnt so much about paper making, using both recycled paper and natural plant materials. We gathered some materials from the land, then made beautiful golden paper from straw, and lush green paper from giant sedge. Bryan kindly provided dried leaf and flower decorations. He is very knowledgable, answering all my questions about how I might be able to make paper stone age style, and summit farm is a really lovely communal venue. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in making paper in a way that is aligned with nature, and it was well worth my trip from Brighton to do :). Looking forward to making my comic out of natural inks and paper! "

Stephanie reviewed: Garden Sculpture Course

"I absolutely LOVED this course and highly recommend to anyone and everyone who fancies exploring their creativity! I have always wanted to explore metalworking and creating sculptures and when I came across the course for garden sculpture I was super enthused. I love gardening and to create my own pieces was a joy. Billy is a consummate professional and a great instructor. Having just two of us on the course meant we got a lot of training and input from the first instruction on what the day would hold to how the forge worked, working the metal through to welding. I loved every minute and will definitely be looking for more opportunities to create more garden sculptures. Between Billy and Stu, my co-learner and I were learning and creating all day. The icing on the cake was the beautiful location, nestled in the trees. A truly mindful, joyful day"

Bill's Workshop responded:

"Hi Stephanie, I'm thrilled you had such a joyous and creative day with us! It was a pleasure to teach someone so enthusiastic and energetic about sculpture and getting to grips with the art form. You are welcome back anytime! Take care and keep crafting! - Billy"

Laura Lovell reviewed: 2 Day Woodturning Course for Beginners

"This is such a great course. The two days passed in a flash and I have learned so much. I haven't done any woodturning for over 30 years but am keen to get back into it and this course was just what I needed. The pace was great, with Mick explaining each part of the process and then giving us adequate time to complete that part before moving onto the next stage. He covered so much content but never overwhelmed us and we were able to go at our own pace. We made 4 great pieces and got to use high spec tools and equipment, including really good PPE so we felt safe at all times. The class numbers are small so there is the opportunity to ask lots of questions and have the support you need to get the most out of the day. Mick's workshop is well organised and spacious and he has lots of different equipment available. I've had a fabulous couple of days and would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn more about woodturning. Mick is great at tailoring his tuition to your needs so whether you are a beginner or someone who wants to further their woodturning skills, this is the course for you."

Cheshire Woodturning and Workshop Training Limited responded:

"Hi Laura Many thanks for your kind words. I'm so glad you felt such benefit from the course because you put a lot of effort into the two days and produced some beautiful finished products. I know you are keen to pursue the craft further at home and you have now got a solid foundation in place to make a good start. Please keep me posted! Thanks Mick"

Dominic Ellis reviewed: 2 Day Woodturning Course for Beginners

"Fantastic two day starter course. Mick’s purpose built workshop is excellent for teaching and turning. Mick is very good at explaining concepts and techniques. He provides attendees with latitude to express their design creativity whilst balancing that with help where needed. My fellow attendee and I had virtually personal tuition with top of the range equipment. We each created 4 artefacts that looked as though we were semi-pros. All of this down to Mick’s coaching and guidance. I would highly recommend this course to all newbies to woodturning. "

Cheshire Woodturning and Workshop Training Limited responded:

"Hi Dom Many thanks for taking the time to write such a positive review of the course, particularly straight after such a long drive home! You worked really hard and I enjoyed watching you develop as a turner. Your finished products were great. I look forward to you updating me on your progress with your home set up and newfound skills! Thanks Mick "
