Mark reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"Pat was a great tutor. My wife and I had never done anything like this before and Pat showed great encouragement and tuition. Two hours was the perfect amount of time so we could get the hang of things and actually make something of our own accord! A great experience and I would highly recommend Pat's course for something a little different."

Pat Southwood responded:

"Thank for your kind comments Mark, I'm really glad you both enjoyed yourselves!"

Denise Smith reviewed: Mixed Media workshop with Clare Cosens

"Had a really great time on this mixed media workshop. I had a vague idea as to what I wanted to do, but Clare gave the much needed advice on how to produce my end product. We were given plenty of materials to choose from , and Clare expertly advised us how to use them. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a fun morning . I would highly recommend doing this course , especially if you have done Clare's Gelli plate workshop, you will be amazed what you can produce with Clare's valuable assistance. "

Robert Leigh reviewed: Weekend landscape painting in watercolours

"Very enjoyable weekend learning the basics of landscape painting at Beaumaris, Anglesey. Each day was at a different location, sitting on pebble beaches, roughing a painting in situ in the morning then learning how to improve it in the studio in the afternoon. We were lucky with the weather. Being new to watercolour painting, the techniques Georgina taught for improving work or correcting errors got me over a hurdle. Gained a real love of Anglesey too. Thanks Georgina, hope to be back soon."

Georgina Rambton responded:

"Thank you for your review Robert. I’m glad you enjoyed the weekend and Anglesey! "

Neil reviewed: Log to Stool with Gedwood

"I was given a Log to Stool day as a present and I had a really good time creating a stool with Ged. I’m really chuffed with how smart it looks and how solid it is to sit on, despite me not having done any woodwork of any kind before. Ged made it easy, relaxed and fun and I loved the beautiful workspace surrounded by wood and Ged’s craft. Thanks a lot! "

Cath Toro reviewed: Modern upholstered footstool workshop - no experience required - the perfect gift!

"I did the workshop in a group of complete novices and with Lucy's step-by-step guidance, many professional upholsterer's tips and calm reassurance, all of us produced our very own, super-stylish footstools. Magic. As someone who has a desk-based, screen-staring job all week, I really enjoyed using my brain in a completely different way, working with my hands and learning to use the different tools. And spending the day in a lovely studio space. It's also very satisfying to come home with and be proud of a piece of furniture you have made yourself. Lucy is a fantastic and kind teacher and has a wealth of knowledge on all things upholstery and furniture. I came with friends but can imagine enjoying the workshop just as much with people I hadn't met before - it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. And the footstool is well-used!"

Roundedby responded:

"Thank you Cath for your lovely review - so glad you enjoyed it - the whole group did so well, and I loved ALL of your colour choices! "

Katie Rawsthorne reviewed: Lampworking Workshop: Full Day Beginners Workshop

"I really cannot fault my day learning lamp working with Suzanne, it was fabulous! It absolutely exceeded any expectations I had before I went in! Suzanne was so lovely and really patient, I felt incredibly relaxed and encouraged as she took a lot of time to properly explain each bead-making technique that we would be covering throughout the course. I also felt that the format of her first demonstrating and then talking me through the same thing was very well done as I am a very much a visual learner! I progressed from making a simple bead to shaping my own heart bead toward the end of the day which I now cherish! I had my pick of any colours I'd like (there's so much choice!) and the time spent at the torch was utterly mesmerising. I've definitely found my new passion and I'm so grateful to have had an all-round great experience doing so! I felt very welcomed and safe in her studio and at ease to ask any questions I might have had. She also took the time to recommend how I might set up my own torch at home and even sent over resources to do so after the course - above and beyond! Overall an 11/10 day taught by a genuinely lovely person and skilled artist who clearly has so much knowledge to share! I would recommend this course to anyone! Thank you so much Suzanne :) "

Suzanne Jewellery responded:

"Thank you so much Katie for leaving such a lovely review. I look forward to seeing your lampwork creations in the future. "

Stuart Wire reviewed: Introduction to Blacksmithing - One Day Experience

"I booked this introductory course for my son Henry and I as a day off activity and because Henry really liked the idea of trying his hand at a bit of blacksmithing. It was a really great day out in the forge and Henry came back absolutely buzzing and wanting more. Tom the blacksmith is a great guy, very patient and skilled in making it all look simple but not intimidating to replicate what he does. There were just the 3 of us in the forge for the full day so we had basically 1 to 1 tuition and we made a couple of items each. The whole set up is really relaxed, easy going and you will be hands on from the very start. Be warned, it can be quite physical at times but that really is part of the fun. There was no pressure to rush so we were able to take our time and get into the zone. The whole experience is surprisingly cathartic once you get into the rhythm of the work. I have done a little work like this before and Henry was a complete novice but it didn't matter, we worked steadily under Tom's guidance and we produced some really lovely pieces which now have pride of place in the house. If you have never tried this art, I thoroughly recommend having a go and I think you would be hard pushed to find a better place to start than with Tom Robinson. We are already planning our next day with him and looking forward to developing our skills."

Tom Robinson Metalwork responded:

"Thank you for your review Stuart. So pleased that you enjoyed the course and you are very welcome back any time!"

Becky Wilson reviewed: 1-to-1 Organic Skincare Workshop at Maid in the Meadow

"I highly recommend this course with Allison. I love her vision and ethos which aligns with my own in relation to skincare. She is exceedingly knowledgeable and went above and beyond in every way, from listening to the purpose of me doing the course and sourcing additional items to help tailor it according to my reason. Allison is very welcoming; we had a right giggle! Her after course care is fab, where you can ask any question as and when required. It's a 5 out of 5 from me!"
