Ben reviewed: "2 Crafts in 1 Day!" pairs - woodturning & pottery experience

"We very much enjoyed our day with Simon and Louise. Two very different crafts but we had a chance to get to grips with them both sufficiently to come away feeling that we’d acquired some new skills and would be happy to try either or both crafts again. I would happily recommend this unique course. "

Eliot Kingsley reviewed: "2 Crafts in 1 Day!" pairs - woodturning & pottery experience

"Brilliant day out learning new skills at both wood turning and pottery. My son and I did a 'two in one' day during which we made a honey dipper in the wood turning class and several clay vessels and dishes in the pottery class under the expert personal tuition of Simon and then Louise. Both sessions were thoroughly enjoyable and it was very satisfying to actually produce something looking quite good at the end! Highly recommended"

Candie G reviewed: Fused glass workshops for all

"Had a wonderful time at this workshop with Karen. As a beginner I found she explained everything in simple terms and we were very soon ‘hands on’ making our own items. I was very impressed with the materials and equipment available for our use, so much different glass to choose from, all colours of frits and stringers and paints, and I learned how to use the grinder. I was delighted with the pieces I made - we made two smaller pieces in the morning and then we were free to make a larger piece in the afternoon of our choice - I can’t wait to see them finished after firing. I would happily do this workshop every weekend if I could, and have no hesitation in recommending Karen - excellent teacher and very friendly and hospitable. "

Catrin Hanks-Doyle reviewed: Creative metalwork and welding, scrap metal sculpture.

"I so enjoyed this course, useful, practical, inspiring, empowering. Annie and Felix bent over backwards to make my vision a reality and they were so chilled and easy going with it, even at the end when I had to ramp up the pace to get my project finished in time, they had such a can-do attitude. I’ve gone away not only with something fantastic I can use for years and years but also planning when I will come again. There is the opportunity to use so many different techniques and materials that I could do this course 10 times and still learn something new. Thank you so much! "

WTF Workshops responded:

"Thank you Catrin! You also have an amazing can-do attitude, and we can’t wait to have you back! ☺️"

Lavinia Asquith reviewed: Seaglass jewellery workshop at Sea & Solder, Dorset.

"This workshop was a really good introduction to silversmithing techniques. Jules is a brilliant teacher, she’s carefully broken the process down into easily manageable steps with clear explanations and was able to help everyone with further advice as needed. Her workshop is well set up and it was a really enjoyable day. I came away with a gorgeous necklace which far exceeded my expectations of what might be possible for a first attempt. Highly recommended. "

Anne reviewed: From fleece to fibre 2-day spinning workshop

"I absolutely loved this course. We learnt everything from choosing a good fleece, how to prepare and wash it and how to spin it. It was very ‘hands on’, separating useable wool from the not so good bits. The class is small and relaxed, we had a spinning wheel each and tried different kinds of wool so we could see the difference. Elaine is exceedingly knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. I cannot recommend this course enough. "

Cartmel Handspun Spinning School responded:

"Thanks Anne It was a pleasure to work with you. "

Silke Arnold-de Simine reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"We had a thoroughly enjoyable two days with Sebastian whose relaxed and easy going attitude definitely took the pressure out of our worries around producing something 'decent'. We surprised ourselves with the sculptures we managed to get done in the two days and the small group setting helped to get regular advice from Sebastian. The set-up is very atmospheric and I loved being in the middle of fields and sheep and just letting my creativity run free! "
