A&L reviewed: Group Soap-making Workshop - Soapology Studio - Nottinghamshire

"My partner and I attended this course as complete novices to cold process soap making. Emma was very thorough in explaining the technical side of soap making and the afternoon session was great fun! The soaps we took home have all turned out really well. A workshop that smelled lovely, a great instructor (and her lovely assistant!) and a chance to try something new made for a great day out as a couple. "

Paul Slade reviewed: Woodturning 2 day workshop

"I have just spent two days with Andy. It was such a pleasure to spend time with someone with his experience and high standing in the craft. I last did any woodturning 45 years ago so we started from scratch and spent most of the first day sharpening and getting familiar with the tools and equipment before I threatened a piece of wood. He set me a challenge on the second day that I proudly managed to fulfil. Andy and Mary (and Angus the dog!) are fine hosts and Mary makes an excellent ginger cake. I have come away with new skills, a fine set of bowls and plenty of enthusiasm - Thanks Andy! "

Andys woodworking responded:

"Thanks for those kind words paul , I really enjoyed your company (And banter) Andy mary angus x"

Paul reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"Bridget was very welcoming and made my daughter and I feel at ease in her small well equipped studio immediately. Bridget has a wealth of jewellery making knowledge and many years of experience. Her talents are obvious from the beautiful pieces that she has created and I was truly amazed by how much we managed to learn in just one day. The course was beyond my expectations and I would throughly recommend this to both beginners and those looking to hone newly learnt skills. Great work Bridget!"

Bridget Bradshaw Designs responded:

"Oh my! What kind words. It was a joy to have such eager learners in my studio. You accomplished so much on the day because you were both so enthusiastic to learn. I hope this encourages you to go ahead and learn more, as you were both very competent at what you did. Kind regards Bridget "

"We both really enjoyed our day with Marina. I bought this for my wife as she is the crafter in the household but surprised myself by how much I enjoyed this too. We can’t wait to return and pick up our decorated bowls. Cannot recommend highly enough."

Alison Foster reviewed: Gelli Plate Printing Workshop by Clare Cosens

"Spent an enjoyable 2 hours learning about Gelli plate printing with acrylics. Created lots of prints and one in particular I think I actually might put in a frame! Clare showed us how we could use wild flowers to create effective prints and that backgrounds can be achieved using everyday objects so it doesn’t need to cost the earth either. Highly recommend this class to explore your creative side!!"

Clare Cosens Designs responded:

"Thank you for your kind words Alison. Your prints looked fabulous, the detail you achieved with the botanicals was amazing and definitely worthy of a frame! "

Heather reviewed: Meet and Make Textiles in the afternoon (four weeks)

"I’m often one of those procrastinators who has ideas about a new textile project but just never get around to doing it. By attending these classes it’s given me the focus I needed to work on the projects. Because it’s a drop in class I didn’t need to worry about wasting money if my schedule prevents me from attending sometimes. Jo is knowledgeable and helpful with her suggestions as to how I can carry out my ideas and supplies me with tea and biscuits when I’m flagging! "
