Carol reviewed: Glass in Concrete for Beginners

"This course was amazing on every level, Ruth is an excellent host and a great teacher, it was a fantastic way to spend a morning. I learned a new skill, and was so immersed I didn't notice the time, can't wait to go back and try another course."

KelZig responded:

"Carol, you blew my mind. While the idea is to give the attendees a great time, I really had fun too. I cannot wait to see you at a follow up course or one of the other courses. Working in small groups is so rewarding and as a single sex group it was simply amazing. Remember slower setting concrete is better!"

Rachel Walker reviewed: Upholstery/cushion making

"This was my second time at the course and I’m sure it won’t be the last, because I enjoyed it just as much! I went back to complete the chair I started, and i’m really pleased with the finished article. It’s so nice being right in the centre of York for a couple of days, with lovely supportive people, and Jo’s tutorage was wonderful again. The more I learn the more I want to do :-) "

Deborah Shearman reviewed: An Introduction To Making Hardened Fabric Jewellery Making

"A most enjoyable afternoon spent making Jewellery with a different twist. Hardened fabric jewellery was a totally new idea to me and I made earrings & a necklace but there was the opportunity to make a brooch or hair slides too. Diane is such a lovely person, very patient and a good teacher. I felt totally at ease the minute I met her and she oozes enthusiasm and expertise. I am very much looking forward to doing more creative things with Diane. Diane did bring along other items she had made (collage pictures and book covers) as well as examples of her hardened jewellery (absolutely gorgeous) and I hope that she plans some workshops incorporating these ideas."

Diane Taylor Textile Designer Maker responded:

"It was lovely to have your company Deborah ! Really glad you enjoyed the workshop and that you came away from it inspired ! Hope to see you again in the near future ! "

Diana Fellowes reviewed: A complete introduction to felt-making

"We found our way to Hilary through searching online for a course on felting to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We knew nothing! We were rewarded by a truly wonderful experience. We were greeted to her beautiful Elizabethan home by Hilary and her lovely gentle dogs. No boring classroom, but superb instruction in her warm kitchen. We knew we were in the presence of a very talented teacher/artist/crafter who was so generous with her knowledge and all her materials. We came home on a high with articles made which were admired by the family, and even a bag of goodies to get us going. We are now hooked. Thank you so much Hilary."

"I absolutely loved my day! I was very apprehensive about my total lack of skills and how i would get on. Jules is an excellent teacher, very calm and explained everything in such detail. Elisabeth Taylor reviewed: Make Your First Quilt, online course with Amanda Jane Ogden

"It was good that the course is made up of a number of short video clips, making it easy to return to different points of the process when I had got to that point and being able to repeat them for greater understanding. Instructions were clear and well illustrated. I have now completed my quilt! It doesn't bear close inspection, as I didn't line up all my squares correctly and I found it difficult doing the corners on the binding, but it looks good and I wouldn't have been able to do it without this course."

Amanda Jane Textiles responded:

"Dear Elisabeth, Congratulations on making your first quilt! Thanks so much for your review. Amanda"

Joan G reviewed: Embroidery for Beginners

"As a beginner, this course was perfect for me. It was easy to book with Craft Courses and Ann from Handmade Workshops immediately emailed me with information regarding the course and the day, travel options and parking facilities, which, as I was coming from some distance, was very helpful. There were six of us on the course and we were made very welcome on arrival. Each of us had our own packs containing everything needed to complete the embroidery, including hoops, silks, needles and very comprehensive instructions for use at home, including Utube links to help reinforce what we had learnt. The tutor, Katherine, was very friendly, skilled and enthusiastic and made us all feel at ease, whatever our experience. She not only demonstrated to us as a group but gave us individual attention as required too. Ann and Catherine from Handmade Workshops were very attentive and supplied us all with tea/coffee and delicious homemade cakes which all went to making the morning most enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this course and look forward to attending another course from the many on offer at Handmade Workshops."

Handmade Workshops Ltd responded:

"Thank you for your very kind review, Joan. We're really pleased you enjoyed the workshop and look forward to seeing you again soon! Thanks Ann & Catherine Handmade Workshops"

Shirley reviewed: Felt Lampshades

"Emma is a very inspiring teacher, she provided us with lots of information, ref, and clear instructions. I’ve learned how to transfer my ideas and designs onto a lampshade; recommend to homemakers, artists & designers alike. A very interesting medium to consider for marketing ur designs or as a creative expression, it is also a very useful for homemaking / interior designs with a personal touch. This workshop has given me some insights on the possibilities of what u could do with felt, or with added embellishments on it; turning creative expressions into a product, very interesting & practical for future projects. I’m very pleased with what I’ve learned, I recommend the course "

Shirley reviewed: Felt Pouch - for 'Phones or Glasses!

"Hello Emma, thank you for teaching us the pouch making workshop, it was fun & the project scale is easily achieved at home. I can make my very own designer bag now, and it’s quite eco friendly I feel. A practical little project. If I see some bags I like in shops, I could take them as ref / inspirations, using wool to mimic the designs or to create my own. I’ve been learning so much from Emma for the past few courses in the past few months, I look forward for the next one."

Rachel S reviewed: Fluid art - acrylic pouring

"Thank you Eunice for your skill and patience which helped me create two unique works of art for my home. Having seen videos on Facebook I was thrilled to find a course very local to me so that I could have a go. So many colours to choose from and different techniques to try. Truly mind blowing watching the paint "live" and evolve on the canvas before your very eyes! Eunice was friendly, helpful and informative and I hope to do more acrylic paint pouring in the future. Would give 10/10 if I could! "

Eunice J. Friend responded:

"So lovely to meet you and share the wonders of fluid art. I like your terminology of the paint being alive - it certainly does have a life of its own. "
