Marysia reviewed: Knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"From being a complete novice when it comes to knitting to being able to do the basics felt like a great achievement. Ann's tutelage was relaxed and informative. Our casual chatting as I attempted to master the technique was a lovely way to spend 2 hours. Highly recommended."

Maxine Jaeger reviewed: Needle felted funky sheep for beginners

"The 3-hr session was the right length to obtain a taste of what needle-felting involves, learn the basic techniques and helpful dos and dont's. Jo is lovely, with a depth of knowledge and experience (very skilled herself, as beautiful examples of her work demonstrate), but very patient with beginners to this craft, no matter how ham-fisted. Despite my breaking three felting needles and producing a creature with a definite identity crisis, I really enjoyed myself and would love to try a different aspect of felting with Jo. Tea/coffee on tap in a lovely venue and very good value for money. "

John Middlemass reviewed: Bladesmithing Experience Day

"Birthday treat, pleasant surprise and thoroughly enjoyable. Did this with my 19 year old son who has limited practical skills and he managed to achieve a good quality blade utilising the excellent tuition. Thought the price was a bit steep for the finished product and experience. A great experience."

"My husband and I had a lovely time on Emma’s course, we learnt a lot of new techniques on our mosaic journey. If only the day had lasted longer, the time went very quickly, and we are completing our designs at home. Emma is very encouraging and easy to talk to, the venue is in a lovely hall, in a very nice village. The materials provided were inspiring and helped in the design of our work."

Emma Cavell Art responded:

"Dear Patricia and John, Thank you. It was really good to meet and share with you both on this creative journey. Please let me know how you get on with finishing your mosaics? Mix reviewed: Day classes in traditional blacksmithing ... make an item to take away

"My friend and I had an amazing time with Rudi. He’s such a pleasant and patient teacher. Really laid back and encouraging. The forge is a basic and functional workshop full, basic but full of character and charm, you must look around his collection of his own sculptures and metallic keepsakes. We had an excellent time with Rudi and highly recommend a trip. "

"I really enjoyed the course. I went on this as I had enjoyed woodwork at school and wanted to see if I would as an adult. The relaxed atmosphere and great knowledge sharing by the experts not only made the experience enjoyable but also resulted in a good quality product being manufactured. I would highly recommend this establishment, so much so that I am returning for the second course to learn more theory, hand and power tool skills."

Mike N reviewed: Enter the world of Pyrography with Bob Neill

"I had the opportunity to spend a day with Bob Neill and his wonderful wife Del in March when I did the Pyrography course at his home in Derby. I was already dabbling in pyrography alongside my marquetry but what I learnt that day took me to a whole other level. The way Bob teaches you about pyrography is very relaxed and you’re not aware of the strides your making in your capability until you look at what you did at the end of the day. The lunchtime break and food was great too!! All in all a really great course delivered by a very capable and knowledgeable tutor. For the price I paid, I definitely got more than I expected in learning and understanding. Thanks Bob. :)"

Burnt Offerings responded:

"Hi Mike It's good to know that the format for the course is proving to benefit my students such as yourself and others from the excellent reviews we are receiving It was another enjoyable day burning away..Many thanks for your comments about the day Bob "

Andrea Hainsworth reviewed: Green Man stone carving in Yorkshire

"What an amazing experience with a wonderful tutor. I had never attempted anything like this before and hadn't realised just how 'physical' it was going to be. But it was really worth it! There was a group demonstration at various points during the day, and ongoing one-to-one tuition throughout as Helen moved amongst us giving encouragement and passing on her expertise if we were struggling with a particular bit. She is so approachable, easy to talk to and professional. There was coffee and tea whenever we wanted it and it was lovely to meet new people. There were eleven people in our group so we never had to wait for Helen to come to our aid. By the end I was exhausted and very dusty, but it was well worth it, and I had a Green Man to be proud of."

The West Riding Stonecarving Association responded:

"That's so nice.....you were a pleasure to meet and teach .thank you for taking time out of your day to write such a lovely review "
