Gabriele reviewed: Spoon Carving with Touchwood Glasgow

"This was an amazing workshop! Robert was great in explaining every step of the process and he was willing to encourage and support individual projects and explain different techniques of spooncarving that could be used to achieve the desired spoon shape. Me and my partner attended the worksop together as an activity for our 5th anniversary (wooden anniversary) and the whole experience and the spoons we carved will stay in our memories for ever! This was the best workshop I ever attended in my life and I hope more people get to experience the joy of crafting something with their own hands with the amazing guidance of Robert :) "

"What a thoroughly enjoyable day. Alex is a natural teacher. The day was wonderfully paced with Alex showing you what to do step by step. I had never done this before and came away with a fabulous ram's head poker, which encapsulates several different disciplines with fire welding being undoubtedly the most fun. I will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends. Thanks again Alex for a magnificent day. "

"We had a lovely day making our baskets. Faye was a great teacher and we were all thrilled with our baskets. The foraging basket is a great size, looks really artisian and Faye was so knowledgeable about nature and willow weaving. The location is peaceful and in a beautiful garden full of birds and plants. We loved it for a 60th birthday celebration and would recommend highly. The location was great for us to meet centrally as we are dotted around the UK. "

The 5 hour course flew by with so much to enjoy. Thank you for a lovely day. "

David reviewed: Pole lathe turning / green woodworking 1-2-1 or pairs

"Really great day woodturning. The course was laid out really well, taking a 'raw' split log all the way through the stages of the process to create a fully finished item. Lot's of useful instruction, both on the theory and the practical nature of each step along with some great guidance on how to improve. Really beautiful setting to learn in too, plus Simon and Louise were super friendly. I'd definitely recommend to anybody interested in either learning woodturning for themselves or as a great one-off experience day."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi David, Thanks for your candid review and so glad you enjoyed the day - we were lucky with the weather too! — Simon"

Sorcha reviewed: Maille making the traditional way.

"Extremely thorough instruction in all aspects of beginner maillemaking. Phil is an excellent teacher and very very patient. Even if you come to this course with absolutely zero prior knowledge and limited aptitude for other weaving-based crafts (like me), you will come away with a strong sense of the basics. For Reenactors or history geeks, it's worth the price for the opening lecture on different styles of European maille alone. Would recommend to anyone. "

Phil Parkes Maille responded:

"Thanks Sorcha, glad you enjoyed it and to hear that the 'theory' bit was useful too."
