Louise Woodland reviewed: Stained Glass for Home and Garden

"Having been fascinated by stained glass for many years I thoroughly enjoyed actually having a go myself. Anna was a great instructor who guided us through the day in easy to follow steps. The group had time to chat over lunch and get to know each other a little and by the end of the day we each took home a complete piece of fabulous stained glass art. Loved it. "

Anna Conti Stained Glass responded:

"Hi Louise, I am so glad you enjoyed not just the making but meeting the other students."

Phil Hubbard reviewed: Make a shave horse at Sallerton Wood

"I would highly recommend this course, Andy Morton the Instructor has a very calm and forgiving approach to the tuition, all tools and equipment at hand, no real need for any previous practical knowledge ( although as ever a little skill may help progress ), demonstrations are given and help is available if you get stuck at any point or if some of the tasks are a bit too physical depending on your own limitations, The idea is you complete the project almost entirely by yourself giving a huge sense of achievement and take home a Shave horse which is an essential piece of equipment to carry out further work. The surroundings are idyllic and the lunch time sandwich making ingredients provided by Jane are very tasty with lots of homemade elements. Be careful you may want a Pole Lathe next! "

Sallerton Wood responded:

"Thanks very much, Phil, for your generous words about the course and its Instructor, Andy. Thanks also for your kind words about the provided lunches, and the woodland and stream settings for the course. We're delighted that you enjoyed the course, and we look forward to seeing you again at Sallerton Wood any time that you choose to return. In the meantime, enjoy using your new hand-crafted shave horse. "

Elena reviewed: Beginner's Secrets of Spindle Spinning

"I loved learning how to spin my own yarn. I appreciated Ruth's careful explanation of the trickier bits, and the way the video helps to show exactly what you need to do. I'm really pleased to see my progress over the 3 yarns, and my third one is really something I could crochet with. Can't wait to see what I can create next. "

A Brooks reviewed: Beginner's Quilting Day "Wonky Donkey" with Sew Forest of Dean

"A truly excellent course! Informal and relaxed and just the right pace to understand and practice each part of the project before moving on. We were given all the necessary information to complete the project in our own time and encouraged to get in touch if we came across problems. I don’t think any quilts will be left in the ‘UFO’ box. Thank you so much for a great day - I’m looking forward to receiving the newsletter and booking my next course."

Sew Forest of Dean responded:

"Thanks so much for your review Angela and for joining me in the studio. It was lovely to see all your quilts come to life, you did a wonderful job with everything I threw at you! Good luck with the finishing off, don't forget to shout if you need any more help. Hope to see you again for some more quilting fun. Best wishes, Jennifer"

Sam Evans reviewed: Stained Glass Taster Day @ Bowood House & Gardens

"What a lovely craft day! Iain obviously loves his subject because it showed in his enthusiasm. Nice bit of history with some beautiful pictures for inspiration.. Small group of us so Iain had time to show us how to make & help us all, as needed to complete a stained glass window of our own design. Sarah and Bowood House were brilliant hosts, lunch was lovely and there was plenty of it, with tea & coffee on constant supply. And a tour around the main house with a guide after lunch. Good choice of venue. Thank you all very much. My stained glass piece is now proudly sat in one of my windows at home for all to see. I will be making more :)"

"Kathryn was so kind and helpful. I had a really difficult commute to the class caught up in train cancellations and ended up arriving almost an hour late and completely flustered, but she went out of her way to put me at ease and help me get started so that I could make the most of my remaining time. Thank you so much!"

Michelle Johnson reviewed: Full day mosaic workshop for beginners - Meriden, West Midlands

"Great course. Excellent instruction in a very pleasant studio environment with lovely refreshments. Wide choice of bases available and a myriad choices of tiles, glass and crockery. Alison is extremely friendly and helpful, with printed information to take home and continue with the craft. She also told us about other fabulous mosaic examples to visit. I made an impressionist art piece I am very proud of. Everyone's projects looked professional and some made a second smaller piece. Highly recommended."

TH reviewed: Candlemaking for Beginners

"This was a really good introductory course - the venue was easy to find, with good parking; Robert gave us loads of information and help, happily answered any of our questions as well of plenty of 'hands on' time making some candles. We had a go at beeswax, container, pillar and dipped candles - using colour and fragrance. I've come away happy that I can experiment at home now with some confidence. Would recommend if you are thinking of making candles at home and want to know how to start."

"This class was wonderful, great fun and very satisfying. There were plenty of different "ingredients" to experiment with, and Wendy gave us lots of additional tips and information to achieve the best results. Coming away with the finished papers, frame and instructions, together with lots of ideas from Wendy and the other ladies, means I will certainly be doing more of this at home. "

Manal reviewed: 1-to-1 Organic Skincare Workshop at Maid in the Meadow

"The course with Alison is absolutely full of learning and information. I really learnt a lot. One day was not enough. If you want to learn about skin care from an experienced formulator and all the health and safety of making skin care products, you are at the right place. Alison was also very kind and a listener. She doesn’t only provide recipes that you can find anywhere online, in-fact she teaches you how to formulate and come up with any product you have in mind. She is an encyclopedia of handmade skin care products. She is fun to work with and a great host as well. I highly recommend Alison for a skin care workshop."

Maid in the Meadow responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review and recommendation. It was so nice to meet you and I'm glad you had fun and enjoyed your day making your bespoke skincare products in my workshop. I hope you feel inspired now, to go on and create more products in the future with the skills you have learned. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me. Kind regards Allison"

"My friend and I did this course on a somewhat mixed weather weekend. The instructor Geraint was very knowledgable and a good teacher. When the weather changed, cover was available, when it was nice, carving in the orchard was a treat. A very enjoyable course with lots of options for the final pieces. I would certainly recommend the course."
