George Oliver reviewed: Silversmithing workshop

"I had a silversmithing course with Kami today. I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Kami is a great teacher who is clearly passionate about her work. She went through all the equipment and techniques I can use and even spent some extra time to make sure I could make my pendant. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to make some silver jewellery."

Mya Designs responded:

"I'm so glad you enjoyed it and hope you learnt some new techniques to add to your skills set for your next project. It's good to have the opportunity to explore metals, textures, tools and also how to be savvy with options. I love your final piece which has a nice sturdy weight but with the most delicate design on it, just needs to be polished depending which finish you desire. You already have great skills and I hope you'll continue making beautiful things. Take care Kami x"

Andy reviewed: Adventures in book binding with Ali Reeve

"I have no hesitation in giving this course 5 stars. I first looked into book binding over three years ago but never really got further than buying a number of tools, partly because a course I'd planned on attending was discontinued. I was therefore delighted to receive Ali Reeves' course as a Christmas present from my wife. I attended the course yesterday and to say it exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Ali presented the course in an informal but instructive and informative manner and both she and her husband were very welcoming and hospitable (even providing tea and donuts). The class was not small (I am guessing there were approaching 20 of us) but Ali was easy to hear and follow, and she was able to give students the individual attention they needed when they needed it. I was one of the slow member of the group, but even I was able to produce 4 differently bound booklets in the time available - most of the class managed 5. At the end of the class there was a real sense of personal achievement. I am now training my wife - partly because I think she'll enjoy it but, equally, because it is a great way of consolidating my learning. The range of tools that Ali made available for (optional) purchase, designed & manufactured by her husband, were used throughout the course and were, for me, a must buy - especially given the very reasonable price. Be warned, I suspect this is addictive and I've already been spending on Amazon since the course."

Stamps Away responded:

"Thank you for your lovely feedback and it makes me so happy that you are sharing this craft with your wife. It was such a pleasure to teach yesterday and your sense of achievement was truly deserved, everyone did amazing. "

Penny reviewed: Lino Printing onto Fabric Cottingham

"Great day, first time for my sister and I doing any linocut printing. We both made a lovely print and had time to print a couple of fabric pieces (to make into cushions later). Course was well paced for us all to follow easily and there were some lovely different prints made. Tutor (Holly) was great. Location was very good, plenty of room and very handy for me as only live a few minutes away! Would love to see more courses here. "

Beverley Sweetman reviewed: Stained Glass for Home and Garden

"Thank you Anna for the brilliant tuition on the stained glass leaded panel course yesterday. I am so pleased with what I created on the 1 day course, I didn’t think it was possible at the beginning of the day. Fast paced with plenty of one to one advice. A Great introduction to the old craft of leaded stain glass panel design."

Anna Conti Stained Glass responded:

"Hi Bev, Thanks for the lovely review. I am just back from 2 days of teaching, a bit frazzled but taught interesting people and there have been some beautiful panels made, including yours of course! I hope you come on another workshop."

Wendy reviewed: Group Soap-making Workshop - Soapology Studio - Nottinghamshire

"Really enjoyed this course. Started with a thorough explanation of the process and what each bit meant. This was already typed out and given to us all to take away. After lunch we did the practical bit which was great fun. We each made 2 batches of soap, with 1-1 guidance during the crucial mixing phase. We had free rein over the smell and colour/design of the soap. We were given a box with the ingredients to make more soap which was a lovely touch! Emma is really friendly and helpful and is a fantastic teacher. 100% recommend."

Deborah Crewe reviewed: Get to know your sewing machine

"Hi, delightful morning with Judy and co rediscovering how to use a sewing machine after 50 years, (back when I made all my own clothes in the 70s!) A group of about 9 of us were taken through the dynamics of our sewing machines and then we were put through our paces practising. By late morning we were all making drawstring bags perfectly! Lots of regular input and observation from Judy as she visited all our sewing tables. She’s lovely and relaxed and none of us were pressured. In fact throughout the class we all interacted and had fun as well as taking instruction. Highly recommended for a novice, for creative types, mums, retirees like me! Plus lots more sewing classes to add further skills and learn how to make a wide range of ideas. Great warm, cosy venue, with yummy refreshments. Easy parking."

Howard reviewed: Wood joints class using reclaimed materials

"Really enjoyable and informative class delivered by Tyler who is a highly knowledgeable, patient craftsman who clearly enjoys teaching. The pace of the course was adapted to suit those attending and Tyler imparts his knowledge without taking over. Plenty of tools to go round and we managed to make a range of joints including, butt, mortice & tenon, mitre, dowel reinforced mitre and dovetail. Tyler is very flexible and adapts the class according to student needs. He also allows plenty of time for questions throughout the class and a dedicated Q&A about all things woodworking (hand tools, machines, wood, techniques, buying, sourcing timber etc.) Tyler is very personable and makes you feel welcome and supports especially if you're a complete novice like myself. Tips - wear warm clothes (pending installation of log burner) and bring own food as the café is expensive"

Carol Morris reviewed: Beginners Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop

"Fabulous day with Heather making silver clay jewellery. There was a group of 5 of us plus 4 other crafters. Heather explained everything really clearly and gave everyone enough leeway to create what we wanted but enough guidance that no one was left behind. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and we all left with some wonderful pieces of jewellery that were really personal. "

"Thank you for such a lovely review Carol, I'm so glad you all enjoyed the workshop! It was an absolute pleasure to have you all in the workshop, hopefully you've raided your button boxes for some ideas 😊. I love it when everyone has their own ideas and create pieces personal to them 💕. "
