"I’ve just completed another course with Raya, this time beginners’ watercolour. I have also enjoyed being part of a friendly class and think we all learned from each other. "

"The lampshade making course run by Lee was everything I wanted it to be and more. Lee explained everything really clearly, guiding when needed to, but stepping back enough for you to get on and do things for yourself. Couldn't praise her enough and will definitely be going back to her for another course."

Finch and Toad responded:

Caroline Smith reviewed: Slate mosaic workshop at Jo Garden Art

"I had such a good day. I arrived slightly frazzled after a drive that had taken much longer than expected, but the warm welcome and a cup of tea from Jo quickly settled me. There are plenty of examples of her slate mosaic in the house for inspiration but in fact, I found that the materials themselves were inspiration enough. A wonderful selection of pieces of slate and an Aladdin’s cave of bits and pieces to insert in the gaps between the slate. Jo had prepared two backing boards for us and showed us how to attach the fixings and mix the adhesive. Then we were off. She gave advice where required and plenty of encouragement. And beautiful pieces of work emerged, we each had our own style and colour choices and every one was lovely. I wasn’t too sure whether I was going to like my second one but with a little guidance from Jo it’s just as successful as the first. I’m pretty sure I will be back, maybe for a large piece next time. Thank you so much Jo."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"What a heart warming review - thank you Caroline! Your work was beautiful and you will see different aspects every time you look at it. Well done! Hope to see you back for a larger piece. Jo xx"

Steph reviewed: Upholstery/cushion making

"The upholstery course was fantastic! I brought a small footstool as a project to complete while being instructed by Jo. It was immensely enjoyable to see something get restored that had been gathering dust in my attic for years, and knowing that I did it myself was a really rewarding experience. I am not a very crafty person but I still managed it all thanks to Jo's instruction. She is very patient and explained each step very clearly. I'd definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn a new skill."

What Jo did next responded:

"Hi Steph Thanks for a great review! You were a very diligent student and really applied yourself. You did a fantastic job... hope to see you again someday. Jo "

Joanne Dewire reviewed: Fused Glass Lanterns with Crafts in the Valley

"We had a fantastic afternoon making a beautiful lantern. There were lots of stencils available to make the fused glass panels of the lantern and a wide range of glass colours. I designed a festive winter theme while my friend went for the four seasons so she can keep her lantern up all year. Melanie is a lovely, inspiring tutor and the workshop is in such a nice environment- and the refreshments were great too! We are already planning our next workshop at Crafts in the Valley!"
