I came away with a beautiful oak bowl and lid and also a ‘bog oak’ pencil that I am very proud of. I didn’t think that I could have completed to such a high standard on my first visit to a lathe! I am hooked now."

"Fabulous course so enjoyable and satisfying. Nick and Debbie are marvellous hosts and made us feel very welcome inviting us into their home. Nick explained how the carving process works and gave us an insight into the different types of wood and methods of carving. Nick had a covered area in the garden to shield us from the elements and although it was torrential rain we were so absorbed in creating a spoon that we didn't really notice and eventually the sun came out. Nick who was ably assisted by Charlie and Emily gave clear instruction at each step of the process giving excellent guidance and praise on the way. The result was fantastic. We were both very proud of our spoons and most definitely want to try our hand at carving at home. Brilliant course and happy to recommend. Thank you so much. "
