Mel reviewed: Christmas deer bottle

"I went to this craft session with a friend to do something lovely and festive. We both really enjoyed it! Jan was very welcoming and guided us through the craft. I absolutely love the bottle I made, we were able to make them personal to us, and with Jan’s help and so many materials, it looks really professional. Very much enjoyed and love our craft. "

Feline Fixins Powertex Fun responded:

"Hi Mel, It was a pleasure to meet you and Jen, and to help you create your beautiful festive deer bottles. They were both so creative, and as you said could have been bought in a high end garden centre. I wondered what reaction you had from your family when you told them you had bought it before revealing you had made it . Thank you for your company, you know where I am if you fancy having a dabble with Powertex or anything else I have on the website. Happy Christmas"

Richard Tucker reviewed: Introduction To Welding & Basic Fabrication

"Fabulous 1-2-1 training with Joe. We went through the H&S elements, and tried out different types of welding practices (MMA/Stick welding), Mig, Tig and gasless. Lots of questions answered and already lots of chatting and trying out different things to gain more confidence. I'd recommend to anyone."

Laura reviewed: Lucy Churchill's Stone Carving Workshops

"Such a wonderful course. Lucy allows you to follow your creative ideas whist providing clear expert teaching and guidance. My classmate and my sculptures could not be more different, but we both received exactly what we needed. With such a small group size you really do get bespoke attention. The food catering provided was also good, and perhaps most importantly we had hours of inspiring conversation while we worked. If in doubt just do it!"

Joan reviewed: Half day mosaic workshops with Laura Barnes.

"I went to the mosaic course with my daughter. It was for 3hrs, which was long enough for us to learn the basics and make something to take home. Laura was very patient and very knowledgeable and guided us both through the steps. We would highly recommend this course as it is so much fun and it's something you could easily carry on after the day. Laura is very passionate about her craft and she was eager to pass on as much of this skill onto us as she could. The venue was easy to get to and able to park right outside of the venue. The area of Todmorden is worth a look round while you're there, great market. I made a Robin slate wall hanging whilst my daughter made a teapot stand. We are both very proud of what we achieved just in a few hours, fun afternoon. "

Laura Barnes Crafty Fox Studios responded:

"Thank you, Joan for your lovely review! It's amazing how much can be learnt in 3 hours and both of you took to the art of mosaic straight away. I enjoyed your company and am delighted you had a chance to see Todmorden. My best wishes to you both. "

Vikki Browning reviewed: Introduction to Woodworking

"What a great day. Bill is so patient and knowledgeable, and explains it so well! He coped admirably with 2 intermediates and 2 beginners at the same time. We all managed to learn new skills. However, his tea-making is appalling, so take your own flask. Highly highly highly recommend his courses."

Craven Conservation and Restoration Ltd responded:

"Thank you Vikki, Roy, Roger and Caleb. I am glad you enjoyed the day. I will have to introduce a new rule, nobody can ask me questions and distract me when the tea bag is in and brewing 🤣 Have a great Christmas and I hope Santa brings you a lovely shiny flask. Bill"

Rosalie Radburn reviewed: CHRISTMAS WREATH MAKING WORKSHOPS Oxfordshire Venue 1 Didcot

"My daughter and I had a fabulous Festive afternoon making Christmas wreaths with Jenni Wren. We were total beginners but that didn’t matter at all. Jenni was very patient and explained things very clearly. We didn’t feel rushed at all and nothing was too much trouble. We came away with two beautiful wreaths and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended."

Jenni Wren Creative responded:

"That is so lovely, thank you for the feedback. It was great to see a mother and daughter work so well and compliment each other. I am sure they looked amazing on each other's respective doors and that you both had a wonderful Christmas. Hopefully we will see you back for another wreath making session. Jenni"

Matthew reviewed: 1 to 1 Bladesmithing or Blacksmithing

"It was a real privilege to learn firsthand from Iain as well as work with and within the historical grounds of the industrial Hamlet. Iain's course was thorough and well-guided and offered me a much sought-after hands-on experience using a real Victorian forge bashing metal out for the first time. Iain was also very patient and friendly and took to great lengths to show me the process and techniques it takes to forge a blade. I would say if you want a real authentic start-to-finish blacksmithing and forging experience, this would be it. I'd highly recommend it and I thank Iain for the opportunity too. "

RuthD reviewed: Two day Leaded Stained Glass panel making.

"Just had a fantastic weekend making a stained glass panel with Laura. I was very lucky as I was the only student in the workshop this weekend and so had Laura’s undivided attention. As a result I managed to complete a panel that I would not have attempted in a class with other participants. Laura was very encouraging and taught me all the various stages of the process with boundless patience. I am so pleased with the final panel, which has been widely admired already! Thank you Laura for helping me so much in your lovely studio. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in seeing how a traditional craft is carried out and has determination and dexterity in their hands! A thoroughly enjoyable two days."

Laura Barnes Crafty Fox Studios responded:

"A great weekend all round! I hope your panel looks wonderful in place. It's a lot to learn and you took my advice throughout. A lovely review, thank you. "
