Libby reviewed: Beginner's Spinning in Newcastle

"I had a lovely day in Liverpool on the beginners spinning course. I learnt a great deal from Cathy and came home with a finished length of yarn. Her knowledge and teaching were great. Also I enjoyed the chat with other would-be spinners and I thought how, down the centuries, women must have chatted thus as they spun. A lovely day."

Jill reviewed: Roses and Castles Canal Art with Lyn Brookhouse

"Loved this course and what a fabulous ‘crafty’ location. The course was very informal and Lynda went at a pace suited to everyone and supported us all 1 on 1 as required. She was knowledgeable and approachable and passionate about Canal Art and its history. I could not believe that I was able to produce and take home a piece of art I was delighted with in just a few short hours with knowing nothing about the technique beforehand."

Crafty Diane Gift Shop, Art Gallery and Craft workshops responded:

"Thanks for the lovely review. You all did really well and I shall make sure Lynda sees your comments. Hope to see you again at some point. Diane x"

"Oh my goodness! What an amazing, inspiring day! Jo offered a wonderful workshop, incredibly well structured and organised, amazing creative space and the end result was way beyond my expectations and I’m thrilled with it! I purchased two other kits to be able to have as a set of three hares… I’m also looking to book in on the slate workshop. Jo is an inspiration! She left no stone unturned in terms of support, hospitality, enthusiasm. I treated my daughter to this workshop and I’m so glad I did! Thanks Jo and Andy for everything. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you so much Michelle! It was lovely having you both in the studio. Your hares were fabulous. Have a great time making the other 2 using the kits and please do not hesitate to make contact if you have any questions. jo xx"

Lydia reviewed: Seaglass jewellery workshop at Sea & Solder, Dorset.

"I booked this workshop for my sea glass obsessed mother as a Christmas gift, and it was amazing! Jules is a fantastic teacher, who guides you along the process so calmly and offered solutions when we'd make mistakes. Her knowledge in jewellery making is extensive and impressive. She structured the day so that the instructions were clear and manageable. To top it off she has sent an email with lots of resources to be able to start sea glass ring making at home. The rings we made at this workshop are fantastic, thank you Jules. We are certainly coming back!"

"One Day Hare Sculpting Jan 6th 2024 This was my maiden experience of sculpting of any kind. Jo and Andy were very welcoming and hospitable. The course was conducted in a relaxed atmosphere and was an excellent learning experience for me. The setting is very conducive to learning and Jo is a patient teacher. I would recommend this course to anyone seeking to explore the world of sculpting. Thank you Jo and Andy for a memorable day! Shiv"

heidi reviewed: Fantasy dip resin flowers workshop

"Visited Jan today for enjoyable resin dip wire flower workshop. She was welcoming and offered drinks straight away, and replenished during the workshop. There were aprons and gloves available. She explained the process and helped us to make a really pretty flower each, with one of us working faster and making a butterfly as well. Great starter workshop for this relaxing craft - we could easily carry on doing this at home now. Thank you!"

Paul reviewed: Beginners half-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"A fantastic morning, learning the basics of wood turning. I was bought it as a gift (I had no idea before I arrived). It brought back fond memories of turning at school (that ages me🤣) Simon made the mornings lesson something I will never forget, he is so understanding, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about turning and all things to do with turning! He took me through all the safety of the machines & tools I would be using. He got me turning quite quickly on a pice of wood to practice different techniques needed for each turning tool and after some mistakes I went on to turn a mushroom out of a piece of pine. He also got me to sand it smooth, seal it and polish it. I loved the class so much I have been looking at getting my own wood turning lathe. I would recommend this course to anyone (you don’t need to be big and strong to be able to turn just have comfy foot ware and be able to stand in one place for a while). Overall a fantastic morning (he even provided me with great gluten free biscuits🤗)"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Paul, It was great fun teaching you - you're a very able student and will make a fine turner. Do shout if you need any further advice or help. -- Simon"
