Jo reviewed: Box making weekend in Cumbria

"I loved this course - such a great way to spend a couple of days being completely absorbed in the process of making a box. All the time surrounded by amazing countryside. And with a beautiful box at the end. Mark is very patient and great at explaining the why of all the steps as well as the how. The course is a good combination of machine and hand skills. I did it with my two sisters and it was a lovely way to spend the weekend together. "

Tim Fairburn reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"This was a great experience. An absolute must is to know what you want to make and get stuck in. Mort is a fountain of knowledge and enthusiasm, and instantly able to sort out any mishaps you might have during the 'manufacture' of your creation. Would wholeheartedly recommend the experience."

Firebird Forge responded:

"Many thanks Tim. It was good to see you in the forge, all the best, Mort."

Derek Clarek reviewed: One day Wood Carving Experience

"Really looking forward to doing this course but due to family circumstances were unable to attend. Notified the organisers who pointed out that course cost would be lost for any cancellations within four weeks of the start. Disappointed they didn't even offer an alternative date so we could attend later."

Rix & Co Rocking Horses Ltd responded:

"We were truly sorry that you couldn't attend this course. Our goal is always to have happy and satisfied customers and we make every accommodation we can to ensure that this is the case. Our courses require significant preparation and prior investment. We have a limited number of places available and when a course is full, such as this was, we have to turn away potential bookings. We know from experience that we require at least 4 weeks to have a hope of filling any cancelled / re-scheduled bookings. With such short notice, we felt that the offer of other attendees coming in your place was the fairest option we could reasonably suggest. Regards, Maggie "

Mathew Frost reviewed: Peak Blacksmithing Experience days

"The blacksmithing experience was thoroughly enjoyed by the 4 of us, a day we'll never forget. Tim and Jessica were great, very thorough explanations and demonstrations of what to do. They're both incredibly friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We were kept well supplied with hot and cold drinks throughout the day, food was catered for by a little food place in the next village and was really good, especially the cakes. By the end of the day we'd all produced a fancy fire poker using many different blacksmithing techniques. Left at the end of the day wanting to do more! Would recommend this to anyone! 5 Star!"

Peak Blacksmithing Experience responded:

"Thank you so much for your review! We are very glad you enjoyed the day as much as we do. We hope to see you again! Kind Regards, Jessica"

Barbara reviewed: Round Shopper Willow Basket

"A great course for all standards. I had never done basket weaving before but Suz was friendly, encouraging and happy to explain as many times as needed. The class size was perfect (6) everyone was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone. Make a great day out with friends or if you are flying solo. I was surprisingly pleased with the basket I made. I will definitely be doing this again. Location was easy to find and plenty of parking. I did find the room a little dark. "

The Coppice Co. responded:

"Hi Barbara! Thank you for your lovely review and the feedback about the room. You're right the room is a bit enclosed. These indoor courses only happen during the winter then we're back in the beautiful woodland for the rest of the year!"

Penny Walmsley reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"I was on this course with Helen and Ron and agree wholeheartedly with everything they have said. I was worried about using the shave horse and the draw knife but after a demonstration and a bit of practice, absolutely loved it. Each of the woodworking tools took a bit of getting used to, but once you got the hang of it, it was easy. I made a sturdy footstool out of Chestnut, which I believe will last for many years outside, under my veranda. I did this course as I wanted to see if I would be able to do the longer 6 day Creative Seating course. Now I feel confident to try. Looking forward to coming back in April."

Peter Lanyon Furniture responded:

"Thanks Penny, I look forward to seeing you in April! "
