Angela reviewed: Pick & Mix Glass Fusing Taster Sessions

"Great course. Dawn really explains the process well and gives a demonstration on the technique. Really enjoyable evening, but wrap up warm as the venue is chilly. "

Dawn Turner Designs responded:

"hi Angela, thank you for your lovely review, I am so glad you all enjoyed it - apologies for the lack of heating though! Work is in the kiln, will be slumping them later in the week, so should be ready soon - they're looking good! "

Carole Smith reviewed: Leaded Stained Glass Workshop, Northampton

"An excellent course. Will is such a good tutor. He is so good at pitching the course for each of our needs and very generous with supplies. Can’t wait to try more. I had a very basic knowledge of Stained glass but Will provided plenty of top tips and glass to practice with. I’m going to start saving for my own kit after feeling very inspired."

Jane reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Warrington, Cheshire

"I thoroughly enjoyed this furniture painting skills course held at Grappenhall Heys walled garden. It's a great location for the course as it lends to the relaxed nature of the day. Jo expertly covered many different painting techniques, giving us the opportunity to practise some before applying our preferred effects to our own item. I made the mistake of taking along too large a piece to complete in the time so heeding Jo's advice to keep it small is paramount. I would recommend the course to anyone who enjoys upcycling and learning new skills."

The Boho Shed responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review Jane. What a great day we had. I’m delighted you enjoyed it so much and I agree, The Walled Garden is just beautiful! 🙏💕"

Conor reviewed: Wooden mechanical toy (automata) making

"I recently had the pleasure of attending Stef's wooden mechanical automata workshop and couldn't be happier with the experience. Stef is a wonderful teacher. He masterfully guided me through each technique, patiently answered my countless questions, and built my confidence step-by-step until I fully understood the craftsmanship behind what we were creating. Throughout the day, he demonstrated the precise techniques required to assemble the toy, making sure I understood why we were making each piece and the best way of achieving it based on his years of experience, which I then took onboard to go and do all the actual cutting, sanding, and assembling myself. By the end of the day, I had crafted a beautiful wooden toy that my son absolutely adores. The well-equipped workshop, relaxed atmosphere, and hands-on approach made this experience truly exceptional. Whether you're a woodworking enthusiast or a complete beginner like I was, I can't recommend this workshop strongly enough. Easily one of the best creative experiences I've ever had!"

Penlan Crafts responded:

"Wow Conor, thank you so much! You have been an excellent "student", quick to learn and to develop your own skills... and the lovely toy you built (and beautifully painted) is the best possible evidence of it! Thank you, it was a pleasure to host you in my studio. All the best to you and your family, Stef"

Tara Bullock reviewed: Beach Art North Cornwall

"We all felt this was a special event and although we've been to Polzeath many times before we didn't realise what a fantastic afternoon we could have just drawing on the beach! Bill starts you off with a quick intro to Beach art, shows you the ropes (literally!), and shares some insights into his unique approach. Then, he lets you practice on the sand with rakes and circle-making tools. Seriously, you don't need to be an artist. Bill guides you, so you can just go with the flow and create patterns and then we all worked together on a final design. The geometric shapes are a bit mind-bending, especially when Bill shows you how many different designs you can make from interlocking circles. It's pretty incredible! Although we didn't stay to watch the tide erase our masterpieces, the photos Bill sent over were wonderful, particularly the drone shots. We even got some enlarged and framed. If this is your first go you don't need to worry as Bill is a lovely man and gentle teacher and the session is an experience that’s worth every penny. A brilliant way to get a different perspective on your own artistic abilities and to experience the beach in an entirely different way."

Beach Art responded:

"Thanks so much for your kind review and happy to hear that everyone enjoyed it. It was a complete pleasure to share some of my beach art stories and techniques and I hope that you'll all be back to have another go in the summer. You're welcome at any of my Wellness Wednesday sessions and I hope you'll join other beach artists at the week long Beach Art Festival in Polzeath at the end of April. You're one of them now! "

Laura reviewed: Glass Fusing Flowers and Under Sea Taster Session

"The two of us really enjoyed our introduction to glass fusion with Andy. Following a demo we were able to make 4 pieces between us with botanical and sea themes, either a wave piece or panels for a lantern, and we can't wait to see how they turn out. In this workshop all of the decorations are pre-made ready to decorate the glass panels as we wish, but this suited us as we had never handled these materials before. Andy was friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him about the various production processes involved and the other types of glasswork they do there. He also makes an excellent cup of tea! We are keen to return to try a more advanced workshop."

Kalypso Glass responded:

"Thank you Laura, glad to hear you enjoyed your day, you made some great pieces too."

"I have just attended a 2 day Decoupage furniture course with Sarah. I had a fantastic experience. She was a great teacher and very attentive to everyone working on their pieces. She is full of great advice & it was very interesting & motivating, to hear about Sarah’s career and projects now and in the future. It was lovely working with a little group and everyone was really friendly and we all went home very happy with what we’d achieved. The food was also great. I loved the homemade coleslaw! Tea coffee & water was on tap whenever we needed refreshments. I highly recommend this course whether you have experience or not. I would definitely go another course with ReVamp Boutique. Thank you Sarah"

Shaun reviewed: Kitchen Knife Course

"I attended this course with my son at the weekend. Couldn't have been happier. Dave was an excellent tutor - just the right amount of hands-on attention but only if/when required. It was also nice that the course is limited to two people so Dave has plenty of time to give you personal attention. We are both extremely pleased with the kitchen knives that we came away with. "

Hand forged Yorkshire responded:

"Thank you very much for your fantastic review Shaun, it is greatly appreciated. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both and have you in the workshop, I'm so glad you enjoyed your day and you're happy with the knives you both made. Rightly so you both did an absolutely belting job, well done. Hope you enjoy using them for many years. "

"This course is one of the best I have ever been on. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. It is an absolutely great way to spend a day - the time flies by. Julie, Jane, Sarah and Alex are welcoming, great at explaining the procedures, giving their experience freely and helping everyone to make their own individual masterpieces. Many many thanks to you all for your help and encouragement. Once you have been on your first course you leave with lots of ideas for your next course, and the next...... In a good way beware! - this is also very addictive. "

"I thoroughly recommend this full day course of glassfusing for anyone creative or not! You are guided through the whole process and you can make large or small items. Julie and her team create a pleasant environment to work in and there is a vast array of materials to use and experiment with. If you're stuck for ideas have a look in the shop or her stencils folder and you'll be sure to find something that you'd like to make. Over my many day sessions I've made a vast array of unique glassware, that now adorn mine and many friends & family homes. The special gift of hand crafted glass, is a gift of love. "
