Sarah Kelsall-Patel reviewed: Building and weaving a simple stool at The Quiet Workshop

"What a great way to spend a weekend and what's more, end up with a piece of furniture to be proud of. It was a little more physical then expected--using the plane and power tools. I loved the precision of the build and the cathectic nature of the weaving. All helped along of course by the excellent tuition and tasty food. Thank you so much."

The Quiet Workshop responded:

"Thanks for your review Sarah. It was lovely having you in the workshop. You did a great job on the tall stool. I hope it’s good for your music practise. Best wishes, S&B"

Hannah reviewed: Mindful Journaling and Hand Lettering Workshop

"Highly recommend this workshop! Laura and Sarah’s guidance around journalling has been so helpful in helping me get started and feeling much more confident and committed to my journalling than ever! The day is structured very well to support you building your skills and helps you to see that journalling doesn’t have to be perfect - it’s about providing yourself with that time and space to relax your mind. Lovely atmosphere throughout the day and very well resourced! There were so many things available to help you get started! Thank you so much! "

Charlotte A. reviewed: Weave a patterned scarf in a day - Rochdale

"I absolutely loved doing this course! Anne was fantastic, talking us through every step of the weaving process, from choosing yarns and setting up the looms, to the final touches on the finished scarf. I have learnt so much, as well enjoying the making process, and the relaxed environment. I am over the moon with my finished scarf. I loved the course so much, I am now looking into buying a loom, and taking up weaving as hobby."

David McCann reviewed: Have a go at Blacksmithing (4hrs)

"I was bought my place on the blacksmithing course as a birthday present. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, not knowing what to expect. Dan was a great teacher, explaining each step well and guiding us through our own efforts. It was great to come away with something I’ve made with my own hands and an appreciation of the skill involved in blacksmithing."

Daniel Geoghegan reviewed: Blacksmithing experience day

"Had a fantastic day learning a new craft. Arian is a natural teacher with a wealth of knowledge that he is able to share easily. After a warm welcome and running through the fundamentals of maintaining the forge, Arian got us to practice some important techniques by making simple hooks. We were then given free rein to design and make our own items. I would highly recommend Arian's Forge to anyone interested in learning blacksmithing."

Arian's Forge responded:

"Thank you very much for this feedback Daniel, glad you enjoyed the day and learnt some aspects of this amazing craft. Thank you for your energy and commitment on the day. Regards, Arian "

Davina Wilson reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"Absolutely amazing two day sculpture workshop. Jo was endlessly helpful and encouraging, keeping all of us on track for a totally successful and beautiful sculpture to take home. Each day was packed with action and laughter while we learnt foiling, plastering and final finishing to produce our masterpieces. I so wish I could come again - best two days ever and a lovely reminder when I look at the verdigris cat in the garden (a small running greyhound was a special bonus to take home on the second day). Well satisfied, thank you to Jo and Andy who built such imaginative armatures, and thank you for sharing your lovely home and garden with us during the workshop."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"What a fabulous review Davina! Thank you so much. Your cat was wonderful and will look amazing in your garden. Well done on making up the greyhound kit during the cat's paint drying time. I hope you enjoy finishing him off at home. Jo xx"

Alex reviewed: Introduction to Hand Tool Joinery 1-day course

"This course was thoroughly enjoyable and informative. Kate's ability to pass on information was incredible even down to listening to the tone of how a saw passes through a piece of wood to ensure the stroke was nice and even. She gave out many pieces of information which will really stick as they were so clearly explained. The facilities and shopping area for tools are brilliant and a great opportunity to find new tools or pieces of wood to practice new skills on. The lunch provided was very tasty."

Yandle & Sons Ltd responded:

"thank you for your review! much appreciated and we are glad you enjoyed your course and visiting us"

Anna Golding reviewed: Have a go at Blacksmithing (4hrs)

"Had a great morning with Dan - before the course Dan talked us through health and safety which was brilliant bearing in mind we were going to be working with extremely hot coker. During the course a guy called Eliot joined us I think he was there to assist Dan with showing us what to do, they took their time in showing you how to do things and helped if you got stuck. I was extremely busy with what I had accomplished and would definitely like to go back again. I was a bit apprehensive when my husband bought me the course but I was pleased I did it because I had a great time with the guys. Dan also makes a mean cup of tea."

Charlotte reviewed: Gathered Lampshades: A One Day Workshop

"Loved this course, I came away with a new skill and a finished lampshade. It’s a long intensive day that ran over even though we were ploughing through all the information so just a heads up if you’re travelling from a distance, it’s unlikely to finish at 5pm. It worked well though that it was just me and one other student so Naomi could give us all the direction and advice we needed throughout. If I lived nearer, I’d be doing all the courses!"

Mary reviewed: Needle felt workshop

"Yvonne hosted us for my hen do. As a bird lover the hens had picked the theme of birds for us to needle felt and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yvonne was able to guide and help everyone and we had amazing cake and prosecco. I would thoroughly recommend this as a hen do activity, and the bonus is you get a forever memory of the event in the item you create - a little robin bird in my case! "

Needle Felt Art responded:

"Mary, I am so pleased you enjoyed your hen do, it was a pleasure to host you all. Such amazing results for first time felters. Your lovely little birds were so cute, hopefully you will be inspired to keep needle felting. Wishing you all the best for your upcoming nuptials."

"Wonderful day. The course was very relaxed and Eunice was a great tutor. I am very happy with my finished work, it looks very professional (even if I say so myself). I will be looking for another course here."

"Martha it was lovely to meet you too and help you make your wonderful Lazy Susan!"

Lauren reviewed: Needle felt workshop

"Yvonne hosted 11 of us for a hen do. We were all new to needle felting and unsure how we’d get on with so many of us and just one instructor. Yvonne had detailed instructions for all our felting requests and she didn’t sit down once in the 3 hours we were there, ensuring we all had her support when needed. I think we were all really impressed with our creations thanks to Yvonne’s guidance. I would highly recommend this craft course. Yvonne was a great instructor and host. Stabbing wool is oddly therapeutic!"

Needle Felt Art responded:

"Thank you so much Lauren, it was a pleasure to host for such a lovely group. You all did so well and should be very proud of your creations, the cutest flock of birds ever. Hopefully you will be inspired to keep felting, as you say, it is rather therapeutic. "

Ros Wood reviewed: Hand Spinning For All - Norfolk

"Thanks Theresa for a wonderful day yesterday. As a total beginner who had never even picked up a drop spindle before, it was very satisfying to go home with a skein of (somewhat quirky!) yarn. I appreciated your patience and encouragement, particularly as I was the only person in the group with zero experience. Thanks for letting me try a couple of different wheels. I’m raring to go now, and am going to look at an Ashford Traveller someone near me is selling. If it suits, I will be able to get practicing before I forget everything you taught us!"

The Spinning Barn responded:

"Thank you so much for such a wonderful review Ros. It was my absolute pleasure to teach you and I know that you will be a life long spinner from now onwards! I can't wait to hear all about your progress so do keep in touch. Best wishes Theresa"

Steve Chipps reviewed: Stone Carving ' Portraits, shapes & Characters '

"The course with Kezia was fantastic. She gave excellent tuition in the skill of stone carving, and as you worked she walked around and gave advice. The best thing however she didn't interfere with your idea, she was interested to see how your carving developed, and how your vision, especially the 3D aspect, grew as you carved. I would recommend this course 100%. Thanks Kezia from myself and my wife Sarah for a great day. "
