Kate reviewed: Birds on a wire - creating small sculptures in Derbyshire

"I wanted to buy my two grown up daughters something different for Christmas, an experience where we could spend time together being mindful and creative, and I couldn’t have been happier with my choice of Liz’s bird on a wire workshop. The setting in Liz’s Carsington home is wonderful, a beautiful studio with inspiring art all around, and plenty of cups of tea and biscuits to get the creative juices flowing. Everything was set up so that we could get straight on and start learning the wire twisting process in order to make our three little birds. Liz was a great teacher, encouraging our ideas and supporting when we got stuck. We all enjoyed the mixture of practical work and creative design and there was just the right amount of relaxation and challenge. I highly recommend Liz’s workshops to anyone looking for a different kind of gift and a way to spend time with family and friends creating both art and memories!"

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

Paula reviewed: Make a Felted Bag, Wet Felting Technique

"Penny was not only patient but attentive and I really benefited from the 1:1 attention. It was my good fortune that the other class members couldn’t attend. I would have been happy with a class but really liked the time alone. The course was achievable and I thought the pace was just right. Lunch was lovely too. The environment was a rustic converted barn with lots of other sellers stuff to tempt me too. I am interested in pennys other workshops and have subscribed to the craft courses newsletter. I think this might be a regular thing …oops, what have I started?! It was a wonderful ā€œmeā€ time experience and would recommend it. We chatted whilst making which was nice and informal and penny made teas and coffees throughout the day with biscuits to munch. I understand I’ll get a PDF instruction email soon which will help me to remember and recreate a bag making session at home. "

Penny Jane Designs responded:

"It was lovely working with you Paula and I am currently doing the 'admin' for new courses! Hope to see you soon, Penny"
