Nick V reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"This was a brilliant 2 day course learning the basics of working with green wood and coming out the other end with a very lovely and fully functional sidetable :). The 2 days really flew by as we learned so many techniques and skills, all carefully supervised by Peter and his excellent apprentice, Toby. All this in a calm and peaceful, rural location with plenty of tea, coffee and chocolate biscuits. Like all of the other participants, I left completely fired up with the desire to make some more furniture ... and, of course, acquire all the right tools! I hope to return for another course in the not-too-distant future. Highly recommended."

Lisa B reviewed: SAORI Weaving Discovery Session

"Wow! What a fantastic experience. Nicola was superb, great introduction to Saori, extremely supportive environment allowing you to produce beautifully weaved outcomes. The looms are a great way to allow all abilities to create beautiful textiles pieces in a variety of colour palettes. Nicola provides differentiated tasks and allows you to progress at your own speed and introduces a variety of more complex ways of weaving. The beauty and uniqueness of this technique allows you to take risks with your work, try something new and relax, exploring a world of gorgeous textures and materials. I would highly recommend this workshop, it was great fun and can't wait to attend more! Thanks Nicola!"

Gemma and Richard reviewed: 3 hour Silver jewellery course

"Highly recommend doing a course with Richard. What a wonderful, interesting and extremely knowledgeable man. My fiance and I did a three hour for 2 workshop. We drove down from Durham despite there being closer courses to where we live, this one caught our eye as it seemed like everything we wanted. It was. We both had an amazing time, came away with some beautiful jewellery made by our own hand, directed superbly by Richard. Again, I cannot recommend this enough. We will be in touch with Richard to book another course so we can make our wedding rings. Amazing chap, highly talented, fabulous course."

Jacqui T reviewed: Gel plate printing starter kit with handmade A5 gel plate, instructions and videos

"My Gel Plate kit arrived in good time, was beautifully packaged and presented with good written instructions and access information for online tutorials, and everything needed to get me started. And very good value on top of all that, everything else I looked at online was either find all the separate components yourself, or considerably more expensive."

Bev Evans Art and Print responded:

"Hi Jacqui, sorry for the late reply! Thank you for a lovely review. I’m glad that having everything in one kit to get you started worked well for you. Using my home made gel plates really helps me to keep the price down too, as well as being more eco-friendly. Hope your prints were a success! Bev x"

Colin Jaycocks reviewed: Pottery wheel throwing taster

"Had a great morning, learning the basics of using a wheel to throw a pot. Good atmosphere in the workshop area, a simple but effective set-up. Clear instruction given and great patience shown by Richard with the number of attempts needed to arrive at a recognisable outcome, mainly pots but a few dishes thrown in. Positive feedback after each attempt. All 5 students arrived at one or two successful results by the end. Now, need to go back to glaze the pots at a later, to be arranged date."

Potterydayz responded:

"It was nice to see you at Potterydayz Colin. Thank you for your thorough review. Look forward to seeing you again in the near future. "

Karen Perkins reviewed: Create with a gel printing plate in Derbyshire

"Another great course with Liz. Lovely venue and small friendly group. She took us through the steps of planning and executing a gel print ( At least 20 prints as it's super hands on) , techniques, colour choices, adding patterns and plant materials! We got to try all these different ideas and take away a clear knowledge of the potential of gel printing. Can't wait to get going at home now . "

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Karen, Lovely to work with you again and thanks for taking the time to let me know about your day. Gel plate printing is a great, intuitive process, with so many possibilities to explore. There’s also lots of potential to explore it alongside your lino cutting and printing skills. Happy printmaking. Best wishes Liz Wellby "

Majed Aggad (MJ) reviewed: Upholstery for Beginners Workshop - in Cheadle

"The Beginners Upholstery Workshop is an absolute must for anyone looking to learn the art of upholstery or even just curious about it. From the moment I signed up for the class, I knew I was in for a treat. Jo, our fantastic instructor, guided us through the materials and tools needed, as well as every step of the process. It was such a pleasure to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who were equally passionate about upholstery, whether they pursued it professionally or as a hobby. Jo also gave us really useful tips and trade knowledge on how to tackle our own projects. But let me tell you, the best part was being able to walk away with a beautiful footstool that I proudly gifted to a friend. The workshop not only provided me with valuable skills but also an amazing piece of furniture that will be cherished for years to come. Thank you Jo for an unforgettable experience! Also, I'd like to give a shout-out to Jo's mum for those amazing cakes and scones! They were AMAZING! "

The Boho Shed responded:

"MJ, thank you so very much for your amazing review. You were an absolute pleasure to teach and you made such a lovely job of your stool. Thank you so much for your help setting up and packing up, you’re so kind, particularly with a bad back! Mum is really grateful for your appreciation of her cakes. 🙏💕"
