Lindsey Cuthbertson reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Warrington, Cheshire

"I had a fabulous, informative day learning and trying out paint techniques with Jo at The Boho Shed. Jo was friendly, welcoming and shared her extensive personal knowledge of the paint types, techniques and tips. I’d done a fair bit of painting before but learnt a lot and got to try out new techniques with the close support of Jo. The course was in beautiful surroundings too and I had a lovely lunch at the cafe next door. Jo treated us throughout to home made cakes, closely supported our projects and ensured we had everything to hand. Highly recommend to beginners or those wanting to try out some new furniture painting techniques."

The Boho Shed responded:

"You were an absolute pleasure to teach Lindsey. Thank you for your lovely review. You made such a gorgeous job of both of your tables, and I agree, the Walled Garden is such a treat, especially on such a sunny day. x"

Sue Cooke reviewed: Lantern Making with Fused Glass

"This was a lovely course. Wendy is very helpful & friendly and explains all use of materials, techniques & overall aims of the day. Safety was clearly explained. In the end I didn’t do more than one panel but I am delighted! I was able to express my own artistry and that takes time. I am thrilled with what I have learned and can’t wait to see finished piece of work!! PS Leave plenty of time to find the studio!!"

Kingsley reviewed: Craft Your Own Longbow: One To One Woodworking Class

"Matt was an amazing expert and source of information. We started the day with a roughly two inch square piece of wood and ended the day with a bow, that was relatively easy to use. All through the day Matt was explaining what we were doing and demonstrating so I could then complete the bow. At 78 inches with a draw of 40lbs at 24 inches we made a yew bow, much more common than the ash equivalent and best suited for my purposes. Matt made sure I knew about the challenges of finding the place and the day went off without a hitch. I have a little experience of using wood tools, but on the day almost every tool was new to me – not a problem with Matt’s support. At times we were both working the bow, which meant I had plenty of time at the end to fire about 27 arrows from it. It is accurate at 10 meters and I enjoyed using a bow I created. With Matt’s experience from years of making bows, and the preparations he made for our day (exposing a single growth ring for my bow on the stave we used) it was a very enjoyable day spent in an ancient woodland."

Manor Wood responded:

"Hi Kingsley, thank you for the review! Very glad you enjoyed the day, it was great having you at Manor Wood. Hope to see you again soon. Matt"

Laura allan reviewed: Lamp glass bead making

"Great fun! Would highly recommend. As only 2 in the class you get lots of attention from the tutor. The bead making process is mesmerising and some what addictive. Tried lots of different techniques. Made several glass beads and came away lots of necklaces, a bracelet and a pair of earrings. I will definitely be coming back for another go!"

"An excellent course with very good facilities in the workshop. Martin's method of teaching where he demonstrates the craft in small chunks before you try it for yourself, worked very well. He is very patient and helpful, knowing when to step in and help and when to stand back. All our group were delighted with our stained glass panels. Many thanks."

Martin McAssey Glass responded:

"Thank you for the review, I hope to see you again. Glad you enjoyed your day."
