"I've been fascinated with metal work and blacksmithing for ages and was able to experience this first-hand with Mort. Between me and my dad, with Mort’s help, we made several things to bring home. In the morning, he showed us how to make Viking knives and later in the afternoon, we made a kitchen knife, and a display dagger inspired by Lord of the Rings (yes, it did break but was quickly and impressively fixed by Mort). I really enjoyed the day and having a go at real blacksmithing. During the day, Mort helped us improve our technique massively. His instructions were clear, and he showed us what to do so we could see what we were aiming for. He had lots of advice for me, because I am interested in pursuing a career in blacksmithing. I would thoroughly recommend this experience, as it is way better than just watching YouTube videos. "

We were supported in our choice of designs and Sarah explained what we needed to do and how we could make them a reality. I had experimented by myself beforehand, but Annette taught me lots of techniques and passed on invaluable advice about equipment, paper and inks. Time flew by as we chatted like old friends, but there was plenty of time for printing my designs and I left with several decent prints and the knowledge to continue when I get home. Highly recommended!"

"I had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Vicky gave clear instructions and demonstrated how to use all the different tools I might need to shape my pieces of glass. It was really interesting learning how to do something completely new and I was quite surprised at how much I managed to do in the day. She offered suggestions or advice if I asked but it was very much my piece of work. It was a very relaxed, sociable day with a lovely lunch and I'm already dropping hints that I'd like another day as my Christmas present. Loved it."

I can't recommend this course highly enough. It's also set in an amazing workshop in stunning country surroundings. Book yourself a treat......you will not regret it!"
