Sarah Elsy reviewed: Level 2 Advanced FURNITURE PAINTING Skills Workshop Intermediate/Advanced (1 Day) - Lancashire

"What a lovely day! Jo guided us through making the Christmas bottle and Christmas plaque with patience and expertise. I was delighted with the things I made. To be able to make such an effective keepsake or decoration in one day was wonderful. Thank you for the yummy cakes along the way and thank you to all at Cuerden Cafe for a fantastic afternoon tea. The location couldn't have been better. I would definitely come back for more courses like this with Jo at the helm!"

The Boho Shed responded:

"I'm so pleased you enjoyed the workshop Sarah, especially on your birthday! Thanks for being part of a really great Christmassy day. Hope to see you again soon."

Marion Steel reviewed: Modern calligraphy (full day workshop) - Hampshire

"I really enjoyed this course, the first time I have ever tackled something “crafty.” Sunita’s approach to teaching the script was to tackle the letters in groups which we then practised before learning the next group. I found this a very manageable way to learn. She was very encouraging to those of us who were complete novices and helped us to improve our technique. The introduction of the watercolours and metallic paints, together with the beautiful cards, opened my eyes to what I might be able to achieve. I liked that there was also some script to trace to produce a beautiful Christmas card, for those of us not yet confident with our freehand writing. This was an inspiring introduction to modern calligraphy which I would recommend. Thank you Sunita!"

Margaret MacLarty reviewed: Beginners polymer clay festive workshop

"The workshop was absolutely excellent. It was very well organised and there was a fantastic range of materials and tools to choose from. Jen made me feel feel very welcome and her style of teaching was interactive and informative but relaxed which was great. In terms of value for money it was excellent and there was far more materials to use than I had imagined. It was also brilliant we could take some of our makes away to finish at home. Thank you Jen for sharing your craft and talent! Really hope there is a follow up workshop!!??"

Nicola Cuggy reviewed: Lino and stamp printing workshop

"My partner and I attended this session and were given a warm welcome by Diana. We had never done lino printing before and weren't really sure what to expect. Diana was an excellent teacher, taking us through each stage of the process and encouraging and guiding us at all times. We were delighted with the prints we made by the end of the session and that we got to bring them home, meaning we can make even more cards in the years to come. The home made mince pies and mulled wine were delicious too!! Thank you for a fabulous session Diana."

Dawn reviewed: Christmas wreath and festive cookery demonstration

"Have just spent a very special day making a Christmas wreath with Lisa. On arrival we were treated to home made muffins and hot coffee then onto the wreath making. Half way through the day lunch was served, all home made, very delicious. The day passed quickly and all too soon it was over. Lisa is a wonderful teacher, nothing too much trouble but equally not standing over you. She was able to skilfully guide everyone to make beautiful Christmas wreaths. Thank you, will be back next year."

All Hallows Farmhouse Cookery School responded:

"Hello Dawn Many thanks indeed for taking the time to write a review following your day here at the farmhouse creating a Christmas wreath to hang on your door. I loved our chats about AGA cookery and as promised will send some cookery tips to you for preparing your family dinner this festive season. We are also delighted to read that you enjoyed your freshly baked English muffins that we served with tea and homemade marmalade when everyone arrived. As well as enjoying lunch beside the log fire in the dining room. We wish you a wonderful Christmastime and very much hope to welcome you here to the farmhouse another time. All best wishes Lisa"

Lisa reviewed: Gemstone Stacking Rings: Silver Jewellery Making

"Went on the Spinner Rings course with a friend to experience something new. Nina is incredibly welcoming and puts you at ease straight away. Working immediately with the basics of ring sizing (with Nina making it so easy!) and getting straight into working with the silver which turned out to be very tactile. It didn’t matter that we had no experience as Nina helped us at every step, explaining just enough to allow you to get through the next part without feeling overwhelmed by details, or rushed to get something done. The time simply flew by and the ring took shape throughout (it was great to see each step making a difference, working towards the finished item). We had a whale of a time. It was incredibly good fun, easy to lose yourself in the making and not notice the time simply flying by just as having fun with some great friends. I highly recommend this course and can’t wait to do another with Nina."

Chloe Farsi reviewed: The Candle Making Experience

"Mathew was great. The session was informative, interesting and informal which I like when it comes to workshops. It was fabulous getting to know more about a local indie business. Also it is such value for money. Not only is it an heavenly scented experience you get to make so many elements that are for keeps. We made 4 variations of products that Urban Candle Co stock so it felt like a bit of a behind the scenes tour of the process too. Definitely recommend as a fun group activity and as an alternative to Christmas wreath making if you are wanting a festive outing."

guy williams reviewed: Clay Modelling - Sculpting the figure in clay

"This course is useful for sculptors of all abilities and experience. The model is viewed from all sides and the tutor provides guidance on approach without being overly structured, and, as in all art, one is constantly encouraged to look and look again. The tuition is encouraging and skillful, and the tutor has a good understanding of anatomy. The studio is well equipped has good natural light. It is encouraging to be working alongside others in a small group, who are supportive but not afraid to be critical."
