I have been an artist for over 25 years with a specific interest in Japanese art and culture. This led to a fascination with Japanese ceramics and now I enjoy creating unique hand built and decorative pieces that are rooted in traditional Japanese techniques with a specific interest in Kurinuki and Kintsugi.
I love the meditative effect of these traditional crafts and the unique and often surprising results they produce.
My little studio/workshop opened in 2021 and is situated in a converted stable in the grounds of Wolvey Hall, a Grade II listed building.
The perfect place for creativity.

Ceramic Workshop: Make a Japanese Kurinuki Yunomi Cup
"Great experience, would recommend to anyone that has an artistic side and wants to try something new, cannot wait to see the finish products (once fired and glazed). Lucy is a great teacher and would love to learn more from her!
p.s... Cakes were delicious

"We thoroughly enjoyed this course making kurinuki yunomi cups. Lucy was an excellent teacher and very patient. Great cakes too! We are feeling very inspired by this course."
"Lucy is a great teacher, she showed us all the steps to make the bells and was happy to answer any questions or help.
The studio is a lovely charming space, with a very relaxed feel.
Thoroughly recommend we'll definitely be going back for more classes. "
"This Kintsugi afternoon workshop was really enjoyable and the time just whizzed past! I took a rather ambitious broken vase to repair, but Lucy was very encouraging and supportive and I completed the project I took with me. I am really delighted with the finished item, and my cat has been banned from going anywhere near it again. The process is interesting and I would recommend having a go. The rural venue is beautiful and a lovely place to spend a few hours. "
