Kelly Balfour reviewed: Christmas Wreath Making Kit on Eco-friendly Willow Bases

"I bought this as a birthday gift to myself so that I could learn how to make a wreath properly after trying to make my own with some success. I sort of knew what to do but wanted to have a how to guide to help me along especially as I was making it for my sister with my recently deceased aunts artificial roses. Jenni was lovely from day one and emailed me asking what I would like in my set etc, she also kept me up to date with despatch dates. Everything in the box was labeled up and tied together in separate portions, which was helpful. The willow wreath was very sturdy and of excellent quality. The written guide and the video were extremely helpful in getting everything just so. I'm over the moon with my wreath. Thanks Jenni!"

Jenni Wren Creative responded:

"Hi Kelly You certainly did your sister proud, thank you for the photo of the completed wreath, it looks absolutely beautiful. I certainly appreciated the comment about the willow wreath, as they are made with a lot of care and attention, from sourcing and cutting the willow/ivy to weaving it by hand. The feedback for the video tutorial is also very gratefully received and I am so happy that it was helpful in constructing the arrangement of the wreath. The wonderful thing about wreaths, is that they are all year round, and make wonderful gifts, so I am sure this will not be the last one that you make. All the best and once again I am so pleased to have been part of the process of what really is a memento of a cherished member of your family. Jenni"

Matthew Butcher reviewed: Introduction to candle-making as a business

"I have wanted to do this course for quite some time and recently attended. The course is aimed at total beginners and really gives a good grounding in how to make candles, wax melts and other decorative wax items. You learn about multiple waxes and Jo gives you a choice of materials so it is bespoke to you and your learning requirements. She has a fantastic range of fragrances to choose from so you can find fragrances that you love or would just like to try. Jo is happy to answer all your questions and talks about the practical side of a candle business including legislation and insurance. I came out feeling confident to explore and develop my own candle brand. I would definitely recommend the course."

The White Candle Company responded:

"Thank you Matt and how exciting that you're already on your way to your own range. I look forward to following your journey and of course, will help wherever I can. All the best!"

"Learnt more on green woodworking in a day than in a couple of months of self-instruction / youtube. Ged is very patient, friendly and really knows his stuff. Fantastic selection of quality tools to use in a welcoming 'back to nature' environment. Definitely going to book more courses from Gedwood again. Hopefully by then, I'll have perfected my 'bow line knot'"

Sue Breach reviewed: Sea glass silver jewellery making workshop at Yardley Arts in Northamptonshire

"I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I felt ‘Covid safe’ and was made very welcome. This was my first time doing anything like this and I found Beccy’s tuition inspiring. She made me feel I could actually produce something (even though I’m usually all fist and thumbs clumsy!) Each stage was demonstrated clearly and simply by Beccy so that I was not daunted by the more challenging steps. With her help and encouragement I produced two very wearable pendants! I thought it was excellent value and I would recommend her courses to anyone."

Jane and Pete reviewed: Beginners half-day pairs pottery / ceramics workshop

"We both had a great time and really enjoyed our pottery session with Louise. Such a warm welcome and a no-pressure relaxed atmosphere made our afternoon informative, productive and fun. The way I was taught at school was nothing like the way Louise explained the techniques - no endless 'wedging' in order to get the clay workable and no soggy lumps of clay sliding all over the wheel and refusing to stay central. Everything was prepared for us and we were ready to start potting within minutes of our arrival - and all this with tea/coffee and biscuits. Perfect! Thank you so much Louise and looking forward to seeing our 'masterpieces'!"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Guys, I'm so happy you enjoyed your pottery session :-). It was a delight to have you in the studio and good to hear that you took so much away from the half-day session. I always say to my students that it's amazing how much you can do in three hours :-). Your pots have dried nicely and will be biscuit-fired this week. I'll let you know when they've been glazed. Thanks for the lovely review!"

Margaret Jeannette Lawrence reviewed: Jewellery making with silver clay - one day beginners workshop

"My Sister and I came to the Workshop. Charlotte was very efficient and laid out all the equipment that we needed for the various stages of making the jewellery...and explained what we would be doing throughout the day. She was very patient and kind and made sure that we knew how to work each process. teaching us on a one to one basis most of the time. We thoroughly enjoyed making the jewellery and had lunch outside whilst the Silver clay was being dried. We came back after lunch and fired the Silver clay with a blow torch and then polished the silver jewellery it was like magic ... the jewellery came to life. We were thrilled with the end results...the people who are going to receive the jewellery will be thrilled as well. We would highly recommend a Silver Clay Day it is such a pleasant way to spend a few hours and getting such wonderful results from making the jewellery as well"

Felix & Reuben Jewellery School responded:

"Thank you so much for attending our workshop. It was a pleasure to teach you both. You both made absolutely gorgeous jewellery. Well done."

Carol Parker-Bryce reviewed: Lampworking Workshop: Full Day Beginners Workshop

"This was something I had always wanted to try and oh my goodness I had the most amazing day. It was everything I wanted and more; One to one personal tuition from Suzanne who was patience personified with this absolute beginner. We covered technique after technique with Suzanne giving me the confidence to tackle each one, slowly building up my knowledge in easy, achievable stages throughout the day. Suzanne, explained and demonstrated everything clearly then was close at hand to encourage and support as I tried for myself. The day just flew but I came away feeling I'd learnt so much, with a gorgeous handful of beads to be proud of and craving more. I can't thank Suzanne enough and I'm looking at dates to book a further course with her. I highly recommend this course and Suzanne as a tutor."

Toby Jones reviewed: 5 Day Professional Furniture Refinishing Workshop - Traditional & Contemporary

"Ollie is a great teacher with knowledge and passion. There was a calm efficiency about the course which is almost entirely hands on. Ollie has a knack of knowing when to gently intervene and instruct. I learnt far more on the 5 day course than I imagined I would. I am no expert, but I feel confident and capable of tackling a wide range of tasks. I also know that Ollie would be happy to provide ad hoc advice if I needed it. The course notes are excellent as well as the refined shopping list for future projects that followed. Thank you Ollie!"
