"I enjoyed learning how to make my first wreath. I found the atmosphere relaxed and I received all the help I needed. Thank you! I was left wondering, how and from what do you make the ring, which we found already done for us. Perhaps you could include a demo of this in the future for the beginners…."

"A very enjoyable day. Plenty of parking, easy to access dedicated studio. Lisa is very generous with her time and will run a course for one student. Her instructions are easy to follow, and the course is very accessible. It is very satisfying to leave a course with 2 books and several sheets of paper for future projects"

Jackie D reviewed: Hand spinning course - absolute beginners

"Hollie is a brilliant tutor! I learned so much in this workshop, from advice about what type of fleece to start spinning with, right the way through to skeining the yarn I had spun that day. Hollie was wonderfully patient, explained things clearly and happily answered all my many (many!) questions. She was excellent company throughout the day, I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I would definitely advise anyone wanting to learn to spin to join Hollie for one of her workshops, they are well worth it."

Thelma reviewed: Furniture upcycling workshop - 1 day

"19th November what a fabulous day I had. Hannah is a great teacher and has plenty of good advice and tips on how to recycle your old furniture to look good (even my little chair) and is very patient. I have never painted or waxed furniture before (except paint walls) thoroughly enjoyed myself. The day day went so quick, chatting to other people what a lovely group that I was with. Learnt a lot about paint even sand paper, techniques how to paint successfully and no dragging of paint brush marks and the using of frog tape (great!!) I recommend everyone to have a go, when I retire next year I will give it another go. Loved next door Simion, amazing chap that does the upholstering "

Tread Softly responded:

"Aww thanks for leaving such a lovely review Thelma. It was lovely working with you and getting to meet you. I loved your two tone chair - it looked great! Hopefully you can use your new found skills and go made upcycling next year!! Thanks again for coming :) x"

Simon Grove reviewed: Silver jewellery making class for beginners

"My wife booked this course as a 13th birthday present for our daughter, we had no idea what to expect but what a revelation it was. Jonathan has the patience of a saint and his explanations of techniques, tools to use and materials is thorough but easy to follow as novices to jewellery making. After practising on several copper pieces, we were let loose on the silver, our daughter had a design for a ring she wanted, drew the idea down and although some elements were small and fiddly, Jonathan helped her to get it marked out, cut and solder the different elements of the ring she'd designed and it turned out just as she wanted it............AMAZING !!!! Really can't recommend Salt Way Silver highly enough, we plan to return ourselves at some point. Thank you Jonathan for a wonderful experience :)"

Salt Way Silver responded:

"Thank you Simon. My main aim is for you to have a good day out - and also to learn how to make your own Silver Jewellery as a bonus! You all did really well and your daughter's design worked a treat. Well done to all of you and thank you for choosing Salt Way Silver. Jonathan"

Andrea McGuire reviewed: Pottery wheel & glass fusing private half-day

"I had a fabulous time doing the combined glass and pottery half day workshop with a friend. I loved getting a taster of both crafts yet still having enough time to produce some pieces (3 x glass pieces and 3 x pots). Both Sarah and Chris were extremely supportive and encouraging and made the afternoon a lot of fun. I would recommend this course for anyone looking who is not sure of their creative ability but wants to have a go ... you will be surprised with what you are able to create."

Sarah Greening Glass responded:

"Thank you so much - it was great to meet you both for a fun afternoon! "

Katriona reviewed: Fused glass introduction 1/2 day at Kingcot, Worcestershire

"I did a half-day course in fused glass and it was a great experience. I made 5 hangers with abstract designs, some as Christmas presents, some for myself. I came with a couple of sketches but other ideas evolved as I handled the glass - the different colours and textures. I wasn't the neatest so am hoping the kiln will work its magic. It's left me with such a good feeling. Couldn't recommend it highly enough."

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Thank you for this, it was good to see how you made items that had a personal meaning by using the glass to represent different things - it's given me food for thought! "

Sam Cheesman reviewed: Beginners Copper Bowl Making

"I’ve been lucky to do a number of courses over the years and can honestly say this is one of my favourites. You leave with the most wonderful item that is beautiful and makes a perfect gift. But the best bit is the making and Emily is a great teacher, relaxed and passionate in equal measures. She is determined you leave with a wonderful bowl and makes sure you get a product at the end that you love. The course location is perfect in Winchester with ample parking nearby and easy train access. What are you waiting for? Sign up! "

The Metalsmith responded:

"What a delightful review! Thank you so much for these kind words! I’m so pleased that you had such a lovely time!"
