Carrie Snaith reviewed: 'Bag in a Day' Practical Leather Course - Tote Bag

"Had the best day ever learning how to make a leather tote bag with Georgie I would highly recommended this class to anyone who wants to learn how to make bags. Georgie is an excellent teacher and so patient in teaching the class. I use my bag everyday and love telling people I made it myself it’s my proudest make so far in my sewing journey. I learned so much and had the best day, already started bag pattern shopping to make more. Thank you so much 😀"

"Did this course yesterday and came home with a fantastic, professional looking bag. Maria reviewed: Stained Glass Taster Day

"Had the most amazing day with Derek I learned so much, he is so patient and explains everything in detail but in a way that a newbie like me understands. The workshop is lovely light and airy and warm bonus !! I took a design I wanted to do hoping I could do it and Derek helped me achieve it so I was over the moon. I highly recommend Derek's workshops. The added extra is at lunch time I met his fabulous family and Jura the dog thank you again Derek x"

Derek Hunt Artist responded:

Jackie reviewed: Sculpt your own faithful dog!

"I absolutely loved this kit. I have literally never even picked up a piece of clay in my life and I don't have an artistic bone in my body, yet somehow with your kit and your guidance, I've actually managed to make something that vaguely resembles my dog!! Really enjoyable and I will likely be buying another one! "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you so much for taking the time to post this review Jackie. Absolutely thrilled that you enjoyed the kit so much. We all have artistic skills inside us! Jo xx"

Gemma Andrews reviewed: Sterling silver stacking rings for complete beginners

"I had such a great day with Viv. I booked on alone and joined a group of 3 others. We had a great day together. Viv explains things clearly and the day starts slow with copper going through the techniques you're learning. At lunch I thought I'd never get the silver rings made but I made 4 rings really quickly as the instructions previously had been so good. I am really pleased with what I've made. Really recommend the course. We had tea and cakes in the studio and there are lots of places for lunch nearby (although you will want to be quick and get on with the fun). The only thing was the studio was cold. It was one of the coldest days in December so to be slightly expected as it is a studio in a fairly old building. Didn't distract from my enjoyment but maybe wait till spring if you feel the cold!!! Viv - thanks so much! "

Simply Amazing Jewellery School responded:

"Thank you so much for this Gemma, I really appreciate your lovely review - of course, I have to agree about the zero comfort factor in the studio - I am working on a flexible solution, insulation with the ability to ventilate when necessary ☺. You were fabulous, despite the cold, some brilliant work done! Thank you so much, for coming to the event x"

Philip A. reviewed: Furniture making course: Fundamentals of Furniture Making Part 2 (beginner) - Surrey

"I have recently attended the Fundamentals Part 2 course with Aidan after completing the part 1 course in the summer. The fundamentals courses cover the basic skills that are required for anyone embarking on a wood craft hobby or perhaps with career aspirations within joinery or fine furniture making. Following on from the part 1 fundamentals course, the part 2 course introduces you to slightly more complex skills with the marking gages, mitre square and the use of shooting boards with the bench planes, followed on with your first experience with hand saws, chisels, shoulder and rebate planes and spoke-shaves with the purpose of crafting a lovely mirror frame by the end of the course. As with the previous course with Aidan, he works on the principles of explanation, demonstration then practice, practice, practice with a healthy amount of correction and help along the way. This is an excellent way of developing your confidence and skills with the tools and gives you a real sense of satisfaction when you ‘get it’. The course structure and teaching is thorough, very well delivered and at a relaxing pace so by the end of day 4 you’re looking at the finished product where everything has come together nicely. Aidan is a lovely friendly guy and a great teacher with an exceptional level of skill and knowledge in his field and he shares this with real enthusiasm and clarity. I have thoroughly enjoyed this course and recommend it to other students of any age or skill level. I’m looking forward to completing some of Aidan’s other courses in the very near future. "

Farnham School of Furniture Making Ltd responded:

"Hi Philip, thank you very much for your detailed and positive feedback, it really means a lot. I am so glad you enjoyed the course and got that much out of it. If you have any follow-up questions, just let me know. Best wishes, Aidan "

Marie Burton reviewed: Charcoal Portrait Taster Session (Morning)

"This was a very well planned course. It really helped me to understand charcoal portraits and in particular how to get life like portraits. I also found that I didn’t get on very well with the medium so a full course is not for me. However I really enjoyed the morning and would happily recommend it."

Stanwick Lakes Art and Craft Courses responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we are glad you enjoyed your morning. Best wishes, The Stanwick Lakes team."

Rachel Gardner reviewed: Christmas Wreath Making Kit on Eco-friendly Willow Bases

"I ordered both the wreath and table centre piece kits. Service level was excellent, kits arrived when requested, instructions were extremely comprehensive. Very high quality kits with lots and lots of greenery to allow design choices. I made extra items with the left over greenery, house looks lovely. Videos very comprehensive. Jenni quick to reply to messages and sent encouraging/informative messages when kits were sent . Thoroughly recommend Jenni and her kits. My crafting friends made some lovely items with me and commented on how impressed with the kits they were too."

Jenni Wren Creative responded:

"Ooo what an awesome review, high praise indeed🤩. The wreaths were a first for last year and we're very popular, so I thought I would add a table centerpiece and again it has been very well received, so I am tremendously happy. This means I will just have to add more to the range next year 🥰. I am thrilled that your house looks lovely as it always is such a wonderful time of year, made more special by the fact you have handcrafted your items which is so much better than shop bought ones.👏. Until next year then, perhaps? Jenni"
