My son and I thoroughly enjoyed this as beginners, Paula was very patient and there every step helping as much as needed but also encouraging us so that we could achieve as much as possible ourselves. Nigel Dervin reviewed: Woodturning Experience Days - Come and spend a day turning your first bowl

"I was very fortunate to find and book this one day course with Stephen. I had a really great time. Stephen has a very interesting way of tutoring which I found totally amazing. He has ability and knowledge in abundance, which he shares willingly. I thought I knew a bit before going, but then learned that I knew nothing. I spent a most joyous morning making my first small bowl. I then spent an even more joyous afternoon making a large bowl. Even from a distance whilst engaged with something else, Stephen could tell by ear I was doing something not quite right. I would thoroughly recommend his course to any prospective/budding wood turner. So glad I did this one day course and so pleased it was with a great chap like Stephen."

Bodden Cross Studio responded:

"Thank you for your kind words Nigel, a great pleasure meeting you too. Stephen"

Helen Wheeler reviewed: Warp your table loom

"I was given a loom and accessories, so signed up for Jeremy’s assistance. For two days he patiently taught me how to warp up and by the end I was weaving a beautiful herringbone design. Jeremy is not just a master weaver but an inspirational artist. His ‘eye’ for colour and texture takes you out of your comfort space and makes you want to achieve more. I can’t wait to book another day with Jeremy to make a sampler. He showed me examples of these and I would proudly frame these pieces of art. "

Alf Sprogis reviewed: One day welding course: an introduction

"This course exceeded my expectations by far. Julian is an excellent tutor and definitely knows his craft. Great discussions throughout the day with more than enough "hands-on". Because my engineering apprenticeship was in aircraft engineering we were never taught to weld. I have taught myself over the years to basically "stick" metal together (badly) but managed to get by. After spending the day with Julian I now have a good understanding of the "science" behind what happens when we weld. Plus the practical skills to carry out the task and how to adjust the technique for different orientations. I strongly recommend this course to anyone seeking a condensed course that will end with the ability to do basic fabrication or vehicle repair. I'm sure now all I need is to practice what I've learned to perfect my techniques. Thanks for a great day. I'm sure once I've had some practice I'll be booking another course with Julian to further upskill. "

Julian Wadsworth - Artist Blacksmith responded:

"Thank you Alf for your review. Pleased you found the course so helpful and informative. It was really good to meet you and hear about your engineering and technical work. I am really happy to have such good feedback from a person with such technical wealth and knowledge. Good to meet you. Regards, Julian"
