Dee Troughton reviewed: Awaken Creativity - discovering or recovering your artist self. Art in Suffolk

"Such a warm welcome and an opportunity to have fun and play with my creativity. Jane is an inspiration not just for her original art works around the walls of the converted barn but her insight in to connecting with our inner child and being relaxed to try. I came away with three pieces, one which Jane framed for me so I can share my creation with friends and family on my own wall. It's not just a collage workshop, it's an art therapy session too..."

Another Sally! reviewed: Glass Fusion - Holey Moley Bowl making

Sam Dowie reviewed: Fused glass art workshops in Buckinghamshire

"This was thoroughly good fun! Our host obviously enjoys her craft and shares her knowledge and advice at a gentle pace, allowing for both those full of artistic inspiration and those of us a little more challenged in the ideas department to create something lovely and unique. Highly recommended. Environmentally and community minded. And she sells some beautiful items too! . "

Shruti Mehta reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury, Wiltshire

"This day brought so much joy to the otherwise a little tired me. Learning how to weave with other women sharing bits of their stories and who they are is so heart warming. Ellie is such a wonderful teacher! She made me feel completely at ease with how I was doing, very encouraging and very much willing to help as I went along. She was able to be there for each one of us, total of 6 women, everytime we asked for some guidance. It is rightful to say it felt a bit daunting at the beginning but by the end of it I felt confident with weaving as a craft, that I could do it. Also, The Fisherton Mill Gallery & Cafe in itself is so inspiring, not to forget the delicious lunch we were served. All in all a day well spent. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much Ellie xx"

Elka responded:

"Thank you so much for you lovely review Shruti, it was such a pleasure to meet you and I'm delighted that you enjoyed the workshop. Thank you for coming and contributing to a wonderful day Xx"

Ben Mower reviewed: Scandinavian Stars - For Ella

"I did this course with my mum after I bought it as a present and it was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning. Susan has a really warm personality and her house was a really cosy setting for some crafting. As for the course, Susan was an excellent teacher for a crafting rookie like me and the course was also challenging enough for a seasoned crafter like my mum. We had a lot of fun and we went home with some fantastic Scandinavian stars to spruce up our Christmas. "

Mill House Millinery responded:

"Thanks Ben! It was really good fun with you and your mum, and I’m definitely learning from you on ‘it looks like a hashtag’ in describing the layout. Hope you both have a wonderful Christmas, and good luck cooking and crafting! "

Amal reviewed: Artist Retreat in the Shropshire Hills - 5 Days & 5 Nights - One to One

"I had an amazing 5 days with Rachel...didn't want to come home! My intention was to explore some new crafts that I could do from home that wouldn't require large, noisy or expensive equipment, and to see if I was any good at any of them. After discussing the possibilities with Rachel, I went onto learn a load of new skills; concrete and pewter casting and letterpress printing, relearnt how to sew and had my first proper lesson on how to draw. I'd always said that I wasn't an artist, but with Rachel's genuine encouragement and patient guidance, I came away feeling confident to take more steps and develop my skills and also thinking that perhaps there was an artist inside me after all!"

Gifted Crafts Company responded:

"Thank you so much for the lovely review Amal. It really was such a lovely week and you did brilliantly with all the crafts you explored. I can't wait to see what you go on to create next! All the very best. Rach "

Anne White reviewed: Sea Glass Jewellery Making Course - One day course (Reading)

"Carol is very pleasant and she worked very hard for more than the three hours allocated. I feel the numbers were a bit too many for her to be able to give each one all the help they may have needed to create a very good piece. Perhaps the cost should reflect the attention possible. "

AnnProbert reviewed: Sea Glass Jewellery Making Course - One day course (Reading)

"I think it might be advisable to speak to Carol. She knows that things did not go well and I came home with an embarrassingly awful pendant which Carol had tried to make when she messed up the one I was working on. She was trying to help, but I feel that she was overwhelmed with so many students needing her assistance, especially with soldering, which needs some experience. Perhaps a smaller class would work better. I suggest that, in my case, Carol might consider a refund of my joining fee. Sorry to be so negative, but I have to tell it as I experienced it,"

By the way, the soup was delicious!"

Samalie Kigondu reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury, Wiltshire

"6 Hour Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury, Wiltshire. What an amazing creative day. As a complete beginner, I really enjoyed the day I spent with Ellie learning how to set up the loom, learning to weave using different techniques. The course material was helpful. The yarns we had available to weave with were beautiful, varied and I enjoyed practising with the different varieties of yarns e.g., sustainable yarns. Ellie is very kind and patient; she answered all questions and gave individual attention when needed. I really enjoyed the day, I would 100% recommend Ellie’s courses and attend another one soon."

Elka responded:

"Hi Samalie! I'm sorry for my very slow response to your lovely review. Thank you so much for coming to the workshop and taking the time to leave a review, I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) Best wishes, Ellie "

Polly reviewed: Christmas Wreath Workshop with Cream & Browns Florist

"Wreath making course at Stainton Village Hall. Venue was pleasant enough (although very cold), would have benefitted from a Christmas tree and some festive music to create an ambience?! Instruction given was 'to the point' - I feel I could now confidently produce a Wreath in the future. Refreshments of a cup of tea and biscuits were provided (would've loved an option of mulled wine - it's Christmas!) All events were charging £55, when asked why I had paid £65 with Craft Courses I was informed that it is due to the commission each particular promotor charges - so when booking be aware?"

Cream & Browns Florist responded:

"Hi Polly thank you for your review ,unfortunately we cannot control the village hall facilities and ambience ,we could not take a decorated tree or play music that is the halls prerogative, the heating was on but alas again village halls are cold we cannot control that ,refreshments were provided which were adequate to the occasion mince pies etc, we need a licence to provide mulled wine which we do not have presently There was the option to pay directly either via phone or website to avoid commission charges again your prerogative we are glad you are now confident in making a wreath from our to the point tuition and hope to see you next year when hopefully we will have a licence to enable us to serve mulled wine."
