Wendy reviewed: Introduction to Natural Dyeing, Mere, Wiltshire

"Really wonderful day. It was extremely informative and also extremely practical and made simple to understand so that by the time I left I felt I could confidently embark on using natural dyes at home. The tutor was so warm, kind and friendly and the Workshop was held in a beautiful location. There was also only a small group which meant the tuition felt personal. Thank you so much..I recommend 100% ( and 5 stars ) "

Elka responded:

"Hi Wendy, thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the day and you feel confident to get started at home. Very best wishes, Claudia."

Sarah Clark reviewed: Tulips still life in Acrylic Workshop, with Katharine Skorka

"A disappointing workshop. The easels provided did not support the canvas. The demonstration of techniques by the tutor was difficult to see due to the room layout. The tutor did not seem to realise when people were struggling or offer solutions to people at the time as they were focused on their own picture. "

Skorkart responded:

"Dear Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to review your art experience. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed and that you do not feel the class met with your expectations. I note your comment with regards to the easels. Throughout my previous classes, nobody has mentioned this, but I will look into it. I am conscious that people join my classes with different levels of experience and I always urge students to be open minded and not strive for perfection, but enjoy the experience and the learning process. For that reason, I try to maintain a small number of people (5) to ensure the demonstration of techniques are clearly visible to everyone. You were sat directly to my right for the duration. I feel my step by step approach of painting the subject, allows people time to follow and accurately reproduce my technique. We spoke many times and I gave you 1-1 support throughout the session to offer different solutions and techniques. I always give individual attention to people and indeed demonstrated the flower on your own painting, as a guide. I was very sorry when you decided to wipe your work away and leave the class early, as that has not happened in any of my previous classes in the last 5 years. I hope you continue to enjoy painting, Katharine "

Caroline Flynn reviewed: Furniture upcycling workshop - 1 day

"I thoroughly enjoyed the day with Hannah. I had never attempted to upcycle a piece of furniture before, so I was apprehensive beforehand, but it is so relaxed and you are taken through each step and you can ask for help when you need it. I learned so much and it has given me the confidence to try a few pieces on my own. "

Amaryllis reviewed: Introduction to spooncarving at Hill End

"A great day carving a spoon. David gave very clear instructions and helpful advice all day while we carved our spoons. So exciting seeing them take form.😉"

David Knight Woodland Crafts responded:

"Thanks so much for attending the course, Amaryllis, braving the road closures around Oxford and for your positive review! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the process of seeing a functional spoon emerging from a branch of green wood. Every time you cleave a piece of wood you are the first to be able to consider the opportunities within. I hope you'll never look at a branch blown from a tree in a storm in the same way again. I'll send details of our Bodgers groups and I hope you'll continue your carving journey."

A great day course which gave me the introduction to sewing that I was hoping for. Thank you very much Judi I wouldn't hesitate to book onto to more courses with you!"
