Daisy reviewed: Beginners half-day pairs pottery / ceramics workshop

"My mum and I did the pottery morning for Mother’s Day and we absolutely loved it. Louise was wonderful and we got to make lovely pieces while having a good chat. She’s a very good teacher and really encourages experimentation! Louise then very kindly glazed our pieces and posted them to us, making sure they got there safely. Thank you for a brilliant morning!"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"It was lovely having you and your mum in the studio for your pottery experience. You both made some beautiful pieces and I'm sooo pleased they arrived safely! I always have everything crossed when I post things out :-). I wish you well with your painting too - very creative. Thank you for the lovely review."

Jim Mawson reviewed: 1 Day Foraging Course

"The wife and I did the foraging course in May ‘24, and had an absolutely lovely time. Gary and his partner Nicola we very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and took us for a delightful stroll about the countryside local to Dunn St Farm, stopping to talk frequently about the different plant species we found, how to identify them and their uses both for food and medicine. We gathered our findings as a group and the tour wound up at an incredible rustic camp in the woods where we cooked it all up to a fabulous meal for everyone - was not expecting the last part but absolutely loved it! We’re now looking forward to exploring our local countryside again to see what we can find :)"

Jack Raven Bushcraft responded:

"Cheers Jim, glad you enjoyed your day with us. Gary"

"This was a great course to do, and I am so pleased with the result. It would have been useful to have a printout afterwards, listing the materials used, and a quick recap of the technique so I can do more at home on my own. But loved it. Thank you."

Divya Malhotra reviewed: Colour from Plants - An Introduction to Natural Dyeing

"I had a wonderful time at Kendall's natural plant dyeing workshop. As a complete beginner, I was quite clueless, but by the end I was excited to continue experimenting. Through-out the workshop I was ‘wowed’ by the magical things common plants can create. Kendall's warm welcome and expert guidance were a real blessing. She was patient and answered questions, even when the answers were potentially obvious. This open attitude created a relaxed learning environment. The hands-on approach of the workshop was fantastic. We all worked together, experimenting with different plant dyes and materials. Kendall explained the processes involved, and I was amazed by the colours we were able to achieve. She continuously reminded us of the importance of experimentation. And note keeping! Kendall's knowledge and passion for natural dyeing were truly inspiring. As a weaver and artist herself, she was open when asked to share her fascinating creative journey, which added another dimension to the workshop. By the end we left with detailed colour cards of the fibres and fabrics we had worked on in class, showcasing the effects of plant dyes on various fibres and how modification, post-dyeing could result in different colours. This class has given me the confidence to continue experimenting and exploring natural dyeing on my own, in a safe way. Overall, I highly recommend Kendall's natural plant dyeing workshop. It was a fun, informative, and inspiring experience."

"My husband and I recently did this workshop and all I can say is WOW! We had such a great day, Jess and Tim were fantastic! Super supportive, really knowledgeable and so encouraging! I’ll be honest this was the first time I’ve lifted a hammer, and to be fair ached the next day! But as a female I was super proud of myself! We both had the best day and came away with a bottle opener that we were both so proud of! Thank you both so much 100% recommend! Becky and Gary! #getithot"

Diana Douglas reviewed: Ecoprinting with Bookbinding with Earthwise Ecoprints

"An exceptional day. Excellent tuition first and then guidance, as we worked on our own pieces. It was so good to have plenty of useful samples to take home. Fiona was well prepared. She brought a sizeable amount of equipment with her (to Cabus VH) - not just for the steaming but for us to have to work on - under her instruction. I really was very impressed. Such an enjoyable day, tiring yes, but so worthwhile. Thank you, Fiona. You are special and your day was special, too."

Earthwise Ecoprints responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review Diana. It was fabulous to return to teach again in Garstang and the brilliant group made it so special. I am so pleased you enjoyed it and hopefully you can continue to Ecoprint and make more books at home. Looking forward to my return visit next year."

Tina reviewed: Silver jewellery workshop for beginners with Jude Karnon

"I had such a great time at this course. Jude is great teacher and I was able to create a piece exactly how I imagined it (plus some additional ideas from Jude that made it even better :D). I still cannot believe that I did all this and learned so much about jewellery making is such a short period of time! Thank you Jude (and Bluebell <3) for this fun morning of silversmithing! I enjoyed every second of it :) "

Tina reviewed: Stained glass one day course for beginners: one-to-one

"I had a great time at Emma's workshop! I enjoyed the whole day from learning the basics of cutting glass, foiling and soldering to designing and creating my own piece of stained glass art. I even ended up creating a second tiny piece from my cut offs. There was really no limit to my creativity. Emma is a great teacher and you can feel that she has years of experience both in the craft and in teaching. She also is great at keeping an interesting conversation going, which made the day even more fun! I can recommend this course to anyone who wants to try out the art of stained glass! :) "

Jo reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"Thoroughly enjoyable session. Pat is a great teacher. We had a good laugh and ended up with several pots that didn't go straight into the chuckit bucket! In the end we both bought a third pot in addition to the two included. Can't wait to see what they look like once they've been fired and glazed. I'd never used a wheel before, and my husband had had one go many years ago. We're definitely thinking of booking another session."

Pat Southwood responded:

"Hi Jo, Thanks for kind words; you both did so well. I will be in touch soon! Pat. "
