"What a fabulous day! Max’s enthusiasm and love of the craft was evident throughout the day. Learning about wood, use of axes and knives and origins of spoon making was fascinating. A day that enabled me to escape the modern world and produce something that will be used everyday - a reminder of how we are connected to nature. Highly recommended. "

"My friend and I did this 4 hour course and loved it! We had no experience but that didn’t matter. Yoka was a great teacher - patient and helpful (especially with the centring of the clay which I found particularly tricky!). We made 5 items each and chose to pay a little extra to keep more than the 2 included in the price. Can’t wait to get them in a few weeks (be aware that you need to return to the studio to collect them). I would definitely recommend this course - great fun and great value. "

"I came back for another Beginners Upholstery Workshop after attending one a while ago — and it was every bit as wonderful as I remembered, if not more! Jo is an exceptional instructor, and her passion and knowledge shine through from the moment you step into the studio. She breaks everything down in such an accessible, encouraging way, whether you’re brand new or returning for a refresher like I was. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and filled with the buzz of creative energy. It was lovely to once again be surrounded by others who were just as curious and enthusiastic about learning upholstery. This time around, I felt even more confident with the tools and techniques thanks to Jo’s expert guidance and thoughtful tips. As before, we left not only with new skills but also a beautiful, hand-crafted footstool — which I'll be gifting to a friend, who I'm sure will be over the moon! I can’t recommend this workshop enough. It’s practical, inspiring, and incredibly rewarding. Thank you again, Jo, for another unforgettable experience!"

"Fantastic day. Max is very patient and approachable teacher. The focus of the day is achieving a spoon you can be proud of - not competitive - just encouraging. Loads of information to take in but given to you in bite size pieces. Great for learning the craft but also for losing yourself, as you have to fully concentrate on the task in hand - no room for thinking about the everyday stresses and strains. Excellent day - would recommend to anyone. Very good value for the time and quality of the tuition given. I went with my husband - (I’d bought it for his birthday) we left having signed up for further workshops."

"I had a really enjoyable day creating my hare. The setting for the workshop was delightful in Jo and Andy's beautiful garden. They both looked after us all so well throughout the day, providing continuous refreshments and made us feel relaxed and at home. Jo was such a good teacher, well structured and exceptionally organised, She took us through the stages, step by step, so that we all ended up creating a lovely sculpture. A lot of thought had gone into the purchasable kits too, right down to those little things that you wouldn't always expect, Jo had thought of everything. Really recommended."
