Wendy Lamb reviewed: Machine made lined curtains

"I attended this course on Sat 18th Feb. Janet was very welcoming. She was very patient and there was a lovely atmosphere. I was extremely pleased with the tuition received. Janet was very helpful and provided clear instructions. All materials were supplied and I made a 1m curtain, pattern matched, lined and with header tape. It contained all the necessary elements to enable me to scale up to construct full size curtains. I came away from the class with a great sense of achievement and very proud of myself. Janet provided clear notes to follow and for me to take away and a step by step chart to follow. Janet provided lots of refreshments and a beautiful lunch. I am certain that when I undertake my first unsupervised project that Janet would be happy to provide any support (if needed). It was a most enjoyable day. I really enjoyed it and would recommend."

tess cherrill reviewed: Autentico Basic Chalk Paint Workshop - Hailsham, East Sussex

"Really enjoyed this basic chalk paint course . Good to learn the basics first and lots of useful tips from Pete. Small studio so painting larger items could be difficult but perfectly fine for the beginners class . Pete is clearly a very talented guy and explained things well."

Jan Vincent reviewed: Two day leather bag making workshop

"Wow what a fantastic course. I have learnt new skills which I feel cofident to use at home and will continue to work with leather. Rosanna is a brilliant tutor pacing the class to the students needs, every question was answered and Rosanna was happy to share her skills and knowledge. I went to this course with slight trepidation, as I had not sewn leather before, I left with a bespoke bag professionly finished which I am really proud of. Thank you Rosanna for giving me the skills and confidence to start a new hobby. The lunch was excellent too, thanks to Rosannas Mum!"

Laura D reviewed: Straw skep hive making course - with Bees for Development

"I was keen to learn some of the skills involved for wider use as well as getting to make a skep. The day did not disappoint. Chris is a good teacher who gradually introduced additional techniques through the day and offered plenty of individual help if needed. As we were sent away with all the rest of the materials required the only thing now stopping me from completing my skep is another day or so of my time and I feel confident about doing this. Plenty of parking, good food too (including vegetarian). I enjoyed the day and the skills learned."

"Thoroughly enjoyed the willow wreath course at Barley on Sunday, which I attended with my friend and sister. I have never done any willow work before, yet came away with a lovely spring wreath which now has pride of place in my conservatory. Sally-Anne is a wonderful teacher, who explains everything so well and is so warm and friendly. I'm going foraging tomorrow to find some dogwood to make another!"

"I had not made a skep before. Chris Park is an excellent teacher and everyone was able to master the basics. Tools and straw provided, ongoing help from Chris throughout the day. Chris is very knowledgable about skeps and beekeeping. He gave a comprehensive talk with PowerPoint slides which was very interesting. The venue was very good, including food and refreshments. Good company from fellow participants. I would unreservedly recommend this course to anyone wanting to make their first skep."

stuart Reekie reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I very much enjoyed the course. Sebastian was very helpful without being overbearing and we were straight into sculpting without the waffle. I was surprised at what I achieved in the two days. Best have an idea to work towards and even better a clay model of what you want to produce."

Niki Knight reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"A fabulous day glass blowing, Ricky teaches you in a very clear manner and is very calm which is handy when you are wielding a long pole with molten glass on the end! I made 4 pieces which I am very pleased with, I think next time I will use more colour as the effect I got is quite subtle and I want the next ones to be more vivid. I received my glass this morning and it was all very well packed and very exciting to see in real life. I will definitely be booking another course."

Sally Margan-Barrett reviewed: Needle felting course with Furzie at Saltisford Canal Trust, Warwick

"What a lovely way to spend the day with my Mum! It was a nice friendly group of people. The teacher was very good, she helped fixed our occasional mishaps and encouraged us all with lovely comments. The venue was excellent with lovely staff and delicious refreshments throughout the day. Neither me or Mum had ever done any felting and I was amazed at the results. Even my 14 year old daughter said WOW! She couldn't believe I had made it. She should have seen some of the others! Highly recommended. Thanks Michelle."

michael martin reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"Had the pleasure of spending a cold Saturday in February with Nigel Barnett at the 'Fransham Forge'. It was a real insight to a skill (I had never tried before)blacksmith. Nigel, with a large dollop of humour and patience actually got us making our own fire irons. Nigel also demonstrated other techniques, making nails etc, and gave us the full tour of his latest product, Shepherd Hut construction, there are some shepherd huts on site you can stay in when on the course, but I'm saving that for a future visit in warmer climes. Highly recommend the day, course and spending some time with Nigel at Fransham Forge"

Bev Dixon reviewed: Mosaic, One Day Workshop

"My friend and I had such a fun time on Jane's one day mosaic course, which was personalised to match our requirements. Jane is very friendly and is generous with both her knowledge and materials. A very wide range of materials to choose from and Jane helped us to choose our designs but still let us loose with our own creative ideas. Lunch was delicious (including vegan options for me). Highly recommended course."

Kat Werner reviewed: Learn to Turn in the Dartmoor National Park

"I highly recommend Chris as a wonderful teacher. My first experience in this craft and was not sure what to expect. At times I felt challenged by the physical skills and the precision required. Chris has got a great ability to reassure and guide a confused novice through any challenge. He is an incredibly skillful craftsman but most importantly , able to pass on his knowledge in a gentle, student centered and hands on manner. The bowl I made under his tuition looks perfect, I am chuffed.Thank you ,Chris. Any student taught by you is in safe hands!"
