Sue Holden reviewed: Landscapes in Fleece

"Last Thursday I attended a Willow Wand workshop at the Crafternoon in Barley. Sally Anne was as always excellent. I have previously made a Willow Angel and also spent a full day before Christmas making a wonderful stag. Sally Anne is the most patient teacher, she is informative and if you think things aren't going quite right, she is very encouraging and gives you the belief you CAN do it. Her courses are excellent value for money too"

"Had a fantastic time and a great experience for my first ever try at blacksmithing. Andy and Adrian were extremely helpful and patient making the whole day enjoyable with a great friendly atmosphere. The food supplied was amazing with cups of tea/coffee beginning, middle and end. I'm already looking into what I want to make next at the forge! Many thanks guys!"

Vivienne Fleet reviewed: Learn To Crochet On The Norfolk/Cambs Border

"I signed up to learn crochet with Sue & Deb as I'd failed miserably some months previously when being taught one-to-one by a relative. I therefore had a lot of self-doubt and I genuinely thought I would never be able to master the craft. But with Sue and Deb's excellent teaching skills and patience after 3 hours I left enthused, motivated, ABLE TO CROCHET (!) and on my way to completing my first project, a small purse in double crochet stitch. The setting/environment is lovely too. Sue and Deb have set up a small workshop cabin in their equestrian centre overlooking the stables and llama/alpaca paddock. It's clean and bright and full of of their own handicrafts for further inspiration. Learning about alpaca wool was fascinating too. Tea, coffee, biscuits and sweets are on tap and having 2 of them there meant I and the other beginner on the workshop had personal tuition when we got stuck. I really enjoyed the morning and I will certainly be going back to learn more."

Emma Tallent reviewed: Tuesday evening life drawing classes with Jo Harris: beginners & intermediate level (a 10 week course), at the Henley School of Art

"I signed up for Jo's guided life class last year after a friend had recommended it. It was based in sweet little local hall at the time, and from the minute I entered Jo and I hit it off - her boundless enthusiasm and upbeat style of teaching was a breath of fresh air, and I was transported back to my art college days, relaxing into the friendly atmosphere and letting that dormant creative side flow forth. I feel like I've been lucky enough to join Jo on her amazing journey of successfully creating the wonderful Henley School of Art in her new, beautifully appointed studio in the centre of town, with everything you could think of available to experiment and create new and interesting techniques. The models are great, as are the other students; Jo puts on a lovely selection of hot drinks and biscuits so we can mingle and chat half way through the class. I enjoyed it so much I signed up again for the same class, and am looking forward to progressing to one of the others next term. I couldn't recommend Jo and the Art School enough!"

James Basey reviewed: Tuesday evening life drawing classes with Jo Harris: beginners & intermediate level (a 10 week course), at the Henley School of Art

"Having attended many life drawing sessions over the years, both guided and unguided, I cannot recommend Jo's classes enough. Jo provides the perfect atmosphere for those of all abilities. As a beginner there are lots of opportunities to try new techniques and learn the basics. For the more experienced it's great to be able to work more independently depending on personal goals. There really is something for everyone!"

Helen Aitchison reviewed: Tuesday evening life drawing classes with Jo Harris: beginners & intermediate level (a 10 week course), at the Henley School of Art

"Having attended lots of different life drawing classes over the years I have to say Jo's classes top them all. Her taught course is particularly brilliant - we're trying out new things each week and I love just turning up with no equipment and seeing what's in store. The unguided drop-in classes are also brilliant - the models, the unobtrusive but energizing music, the venue, and even the tea and biscuits are all first class! And everyone is friendly, especially Jo. So refreshing to find a group of interesting people doing this kind of thing in Henley! Highly recommend!!"

Jenny reviewed: Ceramic Flowers | Short Course

"This is a really enjoyable course, over two half days in a fab location. Day 1 is spent learning the basics of preparing and handling the clay and then moulding and shaping flowers, day 2 is for decorating and colouring the flowers in preparation for a final glazing. Dainiol is a great teacher, very enthusiastic and patient. I made three flowers over the session and can't wait to see how they look once glazed."

Allan & Nat reviewed: Blacksmithing one-to-one North West UK

"A fantastic way to spend a Saurday. My wife booked the day as a Christmas present for me and my son and between the two of us we didn't have an ounce of experience. The guidance and hands on help was perfect for building our confidence and we finished the day with 3 pieces of work each that we are both really pleased with. I'd have no hesitation recommending the day to anyone or going back for another day."
