Mandy reviewed: Informal Woodworking Session - Monday Evenings

"I had an excellent experience at my first session doing woodwork. I was introduced to a variety of equipment and shown how to use them safely. I participated in using some of the equipment, was involved in measuring the wood and cutting it ...and went home with a sturdy birdbox. Although I needed 1:1 assistance, it was very generously given. I paid for the materials at the end of the evening and plan on returning next week."

Dukeries Community Workshop responded:

"Thank you for those kind remarks Mandy. It was our pleasure to work with you. Hope to see you again Regards Alan "

Mick and Drew reviewed: Glass fusing private class - fun taster class for beginners

"Having just done a glass workshop with Sarah we would highly recommend it. We had such an enjoyable experience. It was fun as well as skills building. Sarah’s teaching and support was tailored to our ability, friendly and well prepared. There was choice about what to do and a range of easy and more difficult things to try. Sarah was always helpful and helped us to try things. All the safety about working with glass was clearly and well handled. We love the results of our learning, had a fabulous time, and we really want to do more."

Sue M. reviewed: Mosaic/chat/create! with award winning mosaicist Emma Abel

"I attended a workshop with Emma and it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. Her teaching was clear, encouraging and thoughtful. We started with the design and learnt about different styles depending on how we wanted the final piece to look. We also learnt about cutting and placement. As the day progressed Emma helped us as we worked on our projects and we went home with a finished project. I will definitely book another course with Emma. Her own designs are on view in the workshop space and I’ve never seen any mosaic work like hers, it’s brilliant!"
