Sally reviewed: Needle felt your dog with Crafty Gal

"What a lovely way to spend a day! Inspiring surroundings, great, relaxed teaching by Denise who assured us that the piece of florist wire we started with, would, at the end of the day, be transformed into our beautiful pet dogs. With her unobtrusive guidance our workshop of newbie felters were all delighted with the results. Would highly recommend. Thank you Denise."

Crafty Gal responded:

"Thank you so much for the fantastic feedback Sally, I'm so pleased you enjoyed your day and were thrilled with your miniature Daisy! Dx"

janey Edwards reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"I love Making Mosaics classes on fridays. Whilst fairly new to the class I felt welcome and soon got inspired by seeing what the other students were working on. Anne is extremely patient and kind and as well as giving good advice and helping you when you are stuck or unsure, she also makes a wonderful cuppa keeping our creativity going and has a great sense of humour. She makes you feel welcome and at home. The other students are fun and very friendly and the time whizzes by far too quickly! Driving home after the class I always feel stimulated after working intensely with colour and shape with the incredible variety of mosaic materials Anne offers on her courses. Working with mosaics seems to help make me view the colours and textures of the landscape in a different way and I cannot wait for the next week's class!"

Making Mosaics responded:

"Thanks Janey - nice review - appreciated."

Jill reviewed: Natural (cold process) soap making workshop with afternoon tea

"I thoroughly enjoyed my soap making course. The workshop was very informative and practical in a friendly relaxed environment. Julie was very encouraging and supportive whilst making our own soaps, which we all took home at the end of the day. We had a lovely afternoon tea where we had time to chat whilst enjoying the sandwiches and cakes. Would definitely recommend it. A big thank you to Julie and Janet."

"I am a new, keen mosaicer and found Anne's online course very informative and helpful. Anne's course has refreshed my learning curve with loads of information, ideas and excellent advice. Thank you Anne!"

Making Mosaics responded:

"Thank you - Im so glad you found the online course has re enthused your interest in mosaic! I'm so looking forward to seeing the results!"

Liz Bullock reviewed: Beginners crochet course - in Trowbridge, Wiltshire

"My friend and I had a great afternoon at Lynn’s beginners crochet session last Saturday. Lynn is very welcoming and has the patience of a saint, especially as I kept dropping stitches! Much to my surprise, by the end of the session I had learned how to crochet my very first granny square! I would definitely recommend this course and would like to thank Lynn for her patience and expertise and Lynn’s husband for keeping us supplied with tea and cake ?"

"Mark’s in depth knowledge of wood turning together with his enthusiasm for the craft, makes for a unique and unrivalled experience. He is an extremely efficient communicator and is very keen to impart his knowledge. The structure of his course allows for flexibility of content and his backup and support post training is comprehensive. Following the training day I am determined to set up and progress in wood turning."

Jo ricketts reviewed: One day Fused Glass Workshops

"I went to Purple Glass Studio for a one day fused glass course three years ago, and was so enthused that I have been going weekly (in term time) ever since! Bonnie is so knowledgeable and keen to develop your skills. She enables you to learn, make mistakes and move on, all in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I am particularly impressed with the way that Bonnie enables absolute beginners to produce fused glass pieces that they can be proud of, at lest 3 or 4 of them in a day - participants always leave with a smile on their faces, and many like me return again. I would recommend the Purple Glass Studio to anyone who wants to learn the basics, or to develop their skills, not only in fused glass but in stained glass too. You will have a fantastic day or two, and leave with something to be very proud of!"

The Purple Stained Glass Studio responded:

"Thank you so much Jo, We love having you and seeing as you now have your own studio and kiln, are hugely grateful you still come to class. And I adore the trees you have just brought in! Bonnie"

Lorraine Barnard reviewed: Weave a Scarf Workshop in Liverpool

"I really enjoyed the day and being a new weaver was very pleased with how much we all achieved. Cathy was very knowledgeable and helpful, and her yarns are just gorgeous to work with. Everything was setup ready for us, fantastic choice of colours to use, and we even used some silks one of the attendees brought with her. The Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead was a perfect venue, fabulous cafe, lovely people and lots of space, easy parking, everything we needed. I'm definitely interested in continuing to weave and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course."

Lazykate Textiles responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to leave a review Lorraine and such a lovely one at that. I really appreciate it. Cathy"

Mari reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"Anne is a great teacher, very happy to help out with novices (like me) with great creative ideas but little idea on how to execute them (like me). Very chilled atmosphere and super friendly hobby mosaicists who happen all to be ladies. (Maybe making mosaics appeals more to women?) Highly recommend."

Hilda Tattersall reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"I am a relative new member of the Mosaic class but have thoroughly enjoyed my Friday mornings. Initially I just booked one class to see if I could cope. I am now on my third project. Rather ambitiously I am covering a small coffee table. I took my very first piece of mosaic to a professional framer and he told me it was very good. I thought he was just being kind but he was genuinely impressed with the quality of the work. Anne is an excellent teacher and will offer guidance if needed."

Making Mosaics responded:

"From a tentative start you are becoming most ambitious! It's great to see how you have progressed!"

Linda Bunting reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"Making Mosaics is addictive. I’ve been attending classes for a few years now and really enjoy my time with Anne and the Friday ladies. I’m not especially good at the projects I try to do but everyone is so encouraging and helpful it doesn’t seem to matter what my attempts are like. There is always someone with an idea to help."

Sue reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"Friday is my favourite day of the week now! Anne’s mosaic classes are fun, friendly and full of expert one-on-one help. The great thing is you don’t need any artistic ability to produce gorgeous mosaics you can be proud of. Fab choice of materials to choose from (the biscuits are pretty good too)."

Making Mosaics responded:

"But YOU have lots of artistic ability Sue and it does show! Thanks for being such a loyal class member, Anne"

Bridgeen Donaldson reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"I have been attending Anne's class for over 5yrs now - it's addictive! The classes are very relaxed, with expert tuition from Anne. From the outset you can be creative and learn new skills at your own pace. Like myself, a lot of the attendees are quite proficient mosaicers now and also work at home, but still enjoy the stimulus of working in a group, sharing experiences and feedback, and being introduced to new matetials and techniques. Mosaicing is an opportunity to be absorbed in an activity and completely lose yourself for a few hours, no distractions. I could not recommend Amne's highly enough!!"

Making Mosaics responded:

"You've certainly been hooked! Your work is amazing! Thanks for such a kind review."

"Makings mosaics has been one of my most enjoyable craft experiences. Anne has a wonderful gift for making you feel relaxed whilst teaching you a new skill. A great way to meet new people in comfortable and welcoming surroundings. Hoping to do more classes later in the year."

Making Mosaics responded:

"you are always welcome here Rosie - you've always made the most attractive things - but somehow I don't seem to have many photos of them!"

Kerri Bullett reviewed: Glass fusing private class - fun taster class for beginners

"Thank you so much Sarah, for a wonderful afternoon in your gorgeous (and warm!) studio. I am not creative at all, and I was so surprised at how easy, with Sarah's help, it was to make a couple of decorations and a piece of jewellery. I had so much fun and really enjoyed myself. Sarah is an excellent teacher, and has a wide range of materials to use. I will definitely be booking in again soon for another session!"

Callum Beecroft & Michelle Locker reviewed: Screen printing using paper stencils onto fabric

"All in all Liz was amazing. She was a very gracious host who would do anything for us and felt more like a friend than a teacher and we learnt so much. If you're thinking about doing a screen printing course, this is the one! Had this day course booked for us as a Christmas present as we had been on about screen printing for a while. Got all the kit too but didn't know how to use it yet. Liz was amazing, she would talk us through any questions we had, (personal or professional) and there wasn't a sense of trying to rush us. The first part of the day was us really just getting to know each other and seeing what other people had done, techniques used (and meeting the dog). Liz had already put all of the work in to get the designs ready for us to cut out and after we started she never stopped running around after us, cleaning brushes, mixing paints, preparing screens, we really got the sense that she was going above and beyond for us. Lunch was really good as Michelle has a gluten intolerance, this was catered to and we sat and chatted. We printed on t-shirts we had brought with us, of which we managed to make 4 of with differing designs with the help and suggestions of Liz. Then she also gave us bits of fabric to play around with techniques we wanted to try, and honestly some of our tests came out better than our original designs!"

Jane Rogers reviewed: Nuno Scarf - An Introduction to Nuno Felting

"Thank you Emma, we really enjoyed the Nuno felting scarves course. It was good to be in a small group of three as we were able to get lots of help and advice where needed. It was good though that you let us develop our own ideas and skills. We ended up with three completely different scarves in the group. Your knowledge was invaluable and your enthusiasm infectious. Love your garden 'hideaway'. Looking forward to coming again."
