Charlotte Hitchcock reviewed: Glass fusing private class - fun taster class for beginners

"My friend and I joined one of Sarah's workshops this morning and we absolutely loved it. We had both done a couple of fusing classes previously and wanted to do more. Sarah's class was no disappointment. We did so much in the time and people who had done nothing produced beautiful pieces. I can't wait to see my fired work. She is someone who loves what she does and it shows. I will be going back as I want to try more jewellery work. I will also be going to her husband, Chris who is a potter. Friendly, welcoming and inspiring. Thank you!"

Geraldine Mcadam reviewed: Make a set of stacking rings silversmithing workshop

"I just attended this class today and loved it. Andrew was friendly, well informed, experienced and a good tutor. We learnt, step by step, how to work a strip of silver into a gorgeous ring. Andrew took his time to work with us all and calmly over saw everything we did. We were able to use a variety of different tools and no question was too obvious to ask. I am now looking to book another course as soon as I finish this review! I would thoroughly recommend."

Nicola reviewed: Leather Crossbody/Messenger or Tote bag

"I thoroughly enjoyed my day in the workshop with Richard on his cross body bag making course. This was my first time working with Lea at her and I found it a lovely material to work with. We went through process from cutting leather off hide through to finishing our bags and our finished products were testament to Richard taking us step by step through the day. Feel quite confident I could have a go at home now on my own after having grasped some basics."

Ruth Crawford reviewed: Stained glass leading for beginners

"I completed Jamal's leading workshop with my husband a few days ago. We've done a similar course before but we were very happy we chose to visit Jamal. It was a pleasure to learn about Jamal's background in art and producing beautiful windows for projects all round the world. We learnt a lot and feel confident to pursue our own projects now. I can't wait to return for his glass painting workshop."

Sue Oliver reviewed: One day welding course: an introduction

"Had a really great day with Julian learning to weld. I’d never done anything like this before so was a bit anxious about whether I would be able to get the hang of it. I needn’t have worried. Julian started the day with basic theory about materials and tools but it wasn’t long before I was actually welding. I came away with loads of practical advice tailored to what I wanted to achieve. Julian gave me lots of opportunities to practice welding which has given me the confidence to crack on and have a go at home. I’m now in the process of kitting myself out with everything I need for the welding projects I want to tackle. A day well spent."

Kathryn Nisbet reviewed: 2-Day Leather Bag Making Course

"I have just finished my two day leather handbag making course with Rebecca, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have always wanted to make a handbag and after some research on the internet found Rebecca’s course. Rebecca is a true professional of her craft and an excellent teacher, she is very patient with her students taking the time to explain leather processes, leather production, pattern making, cutting, and using industrial sewing machines. I made a brown leather hobo bag which I lined with Chinese silk, I love it ? I will be recommending Rebecca and her courses to all my work colleagues, friends and family. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

Martin Munden reviewed: 1 to 1 Bladesmithing or Blacksmithing

"Bladesmithing course with Dave and Ian , I was a complete noice, we were shown examples to give us an idea of what we were making. Good paced learning where a step was demo’d and then we had a go. Format worked well , having two craftsmen share their knowledge was great , they can salvage anything that goes wrong . We all produced a knife , had fun heating and hammering a bar into handle and then forming a blade , we learn news skills , had an appreciation of the furnace, working temperatures, hammering techniques . I would high recommend this course. Only recommendation is location offer more courses and opportunities for others to participate ."

Jan Hopkins reviewed: Collagraph Printmaking with Megan Evans + self catered accommodation

"Megan's course was really interesting. It was completely new to me and I liked her style of teaching. She explained clearly and concisely what we were to do but she allowed us a free rein. This meant that we made mistakes and learnt from them. We then had a chance to rectify them in new pieces of work. I especially liked her focus on environmental pollution and how it could be highlighted by her, and our work, I would highly recommend Megan's courses. They are suitable for complete beginners."

Peter B reviewed: Photography Days

"Richard and Sue provided me with exactly what I wanted as an introduction to DSLR photography for a complete novice. They even allowed me to use their gear for the day by prearrangement as I had indicated that I intended to use the day, and their knowledge, as a platform on which to base my future decisions on investment in kit. Weather was atrocious on the day but they didn't let it stop us from an outdoor lakeside practice. Very relaxed and accommodating day well worth the fee."

Art by Camera responded:

"Thanks, Peter. Thank goodness for large umbrellas! Whilst we sometimes rig up a fake stream and rocks it was nice to have got outdoors with you. So glad you felt ready to make a choice of camera and lens to suit your needs. Wishing you years of fun as your skills grow in using them."
