Philip Weston reviewed: A Dry Stone Walling Workshop Bedfordshire

"The day with John was a great experience! There were 7 'students' (all excellent company by the way) having a go at what, on the face of it, seems a straightforward process. I soon learnt how straightforward John made it seem!! John spent time patiently explaining the process, showing details of the wall already built and pointing out the features of a dry stone wall. He dealt with the wall from foundation up and we soon learnt some of the terminology (2 on 1, 1 on 2, jumpers, cheek ends, batter etc.) and were able to (try and) apply the principles taught. I don't consider myself a good DIYer although I give things a go and this is the attitude that John wants. For me, it was not easy, and you should see it as a hands-on taster/introduction to the subject. In that regard, it was very good."

London School of Dry Stone Walling responded:

"Thank you for your comments Philip, your time to consider the workshop content is much appreciated. It is a practical subject and i am particularly pleased you remarked on some of the terms used. It does take time and some 'juggling' to consider what stone goes where ! Best Wishes, John"

Katie Fairbairn reviewed: Gelli Printmaking with No5workshops Group Booking

"I don’t do creativity. I always say I don’t have a creative bone in my body but this was for a much loved friend’s birthday so I went along as I’d agreed and I loved it. For the first time ever I understood the fun of creating something you had designed and enjoyed the whole experience. The studio is light and airy in the most amazing setting and Armi is a wonderful teacher, relaxed, happy to repeat if you don’t completely understand and supportive in whatever you are doing or would like to do. I can’t recommend it enough and this was from the most reluctant pupil ever. I will definitely be looking to do more."

Jane reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Warrington, Cheshire

"I attended Jo’s workshop in February and was very impressed. Jo is very knowledgable and patient and taught us lots of amazing techniques. An old childhood bookcase became a very modern and refreshed piece of furniture thanks to Jo’s advice and guidance. The cakes were yummy too. Highly recommended the Boho Shes and Jo. Can’t wait for level 2."

The Boho Shed responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely words Jane. It's so great to receive such positive feedback. Your bookcase looked gorgeous and I'm delighted you enjoyed the day...and the cakes! :-)"

Alex Brand reviewed: Gelli Printmaking with No5workshops Group Booking

"We organised a 60th birthday treat of a foil printing workshop with a group of nurses. Despite most of our total lack of artistic skill Armi’s knowledge and fantastic teaching style meant we all produced work that we were really happy with. The surroundings are beautiful, a delicious cake, really organised work space with a little bag and book to print on and Armi is a delight to learn with. There really isn’t anything that could be improved!"

Tom reviewed: 2 Day forged chef's knife course.

"I took the two day forging a chefs knife course with Steve in his brilliant newly built workshop. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and walked away with a beautiful and functional tool that will be my forever go to knife in my kitchen. Steve is an incredible teacher and knows his craft. His passion about bladesmithing shows in everything he does and can be seen in his creations, including his pupils end products. As I said, I walked away with skills, knowledge and a top quality blade that will be in my kitchen for the rest of my life. Thank you very very much Steve!"

September Chapelle reviewed: Needle felting - woodland creature or bird, or other small animal: (beginners+)

"I came home from this course absolutely buzzing and I was so proud of my first needle felted creature; I made a cute mole in a plant pot with a flower. Sally was very patient with us all and made you feel relaxed and confident that you could do it. Sally gave thorough explanations of the various techniques needed and I definitely feel that I could tackle another project on my own. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable day and I had a lovely little friend to take home with me. Thanks, Sally! ?"

Craft Workshops responded:

"You are very welcome September - I am so pleased you learnt the skills to confidently carry on at home, and also enjoyed the day. Your mole in the flower pot was lovey - and the attention to detail with adding the ladybird was fantastic :) See you again soon, Sally"

Chris Lawton reviewed: Experimental Printmaking inspired by Mid Century Design in Derbyshire

"A beautiful setting in which to work with materials and instructions delivered expertly. The small group of participants means that everyone has space to work and move freely between the two work rooms. Liz's preparation beforehand and perfect execution of the course results in an inspiring and positive environment. As an absolute novice I felt encouraged and supported throughout the day and left inspired enough to seriously consider developing my skills further by purchasing tools and equipment to use at home. The Slipper Studio offers the perfect environment for a relaxed yet intensive course of instruction and Liz and Andrew are the perfect hosts."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Thank you so much for your review. Sat here with a big smile on my face. Best wishes Liz"

Katy Sullivan reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - 2 Day Beginners/Intermediate Workshop

"I loved the course. I learnt a lot in a short space of time. The pieces I brought really were possibly a bit challenging for a beginner but with Ollie's patient and knowledgeable guidance, pieces that looked suitable for a bonfire were turned into little beauties. It was the stepping stone I needed to be able to restore furniture at home with a view to starting a small business. His course notes are excellent - a really helpful guide for future projects. The workshop itself is light, well equipped and spacious as well as being in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds."

Helen Logan reviewed: Glass painting with Sarah Lewis, Wolverhampton

"What a fabulous afternoon spent with Sarah at her glass painting workshop - by far the best workshop I've ever attended. She is so talented and knowledgeable about her craft and her enthusiasm is infectious. Although I am a complete novice, thanks to Sarah's instruction, I managed to create a beautiful suncatcher which now is hanging at our sitting room window. Sarah is welcoming, encouraging and, above all, an amazing teacher. This afternoon was so relaxed it felt as though we were just friends sitting round a table doing something we love, eating cake (scrummy!!) and drinking tea. Thank you Sarah for a wonderful experience - 4 hours have never passed so quickly! I'm now going to do some internet shopping for glass painting supplies - I'm hooked! xxx"

Sarah Lewis Designs responded:

"Ah thank you. That is such a lovely review. It was really lovely meeting you today. You were an excellent student! Lol! You created a really gorgeous piece and you should be really proud of your work. I am really pleased you enjoyed the day and that I have inspired you to create more things. You are more than welcome to come again whenever you like. Maybe next time though, I will make the cake!!!! Lol! Don't forget to show me what you create at home! See you soon, Sarah."
