Eva Lee reviewed: Leather Lined/Embellished Belt or Dog Collar Workshop

"I signed up for this course because I had been doing leatherwork on my own learning via YouTube videos and I wanted a little more guidance. There were two of us signed up with interest in making bags so we strayed from the dog collars and ended up making leather trays which would teach us the basic skills needed to then move on to bags. Karen was great to be so flexible! I have to say, this course far exceeded all of my expectations. Karen was so patient and allowed us to try out any tools we wanted. She even let us video her saddle stitching so we could reference it later on. She has years of experience in working with leather and could answer all of our questions easily. She was great to learn from and I highly recommend this course and her as a teacher. I can't wait to take another class with her!"

Steph Davies reviewed: Spoon carving course - from log to spoon with Jeffrey Hart

"Loved Jeffrey's course, such a great way to spend a day and learn carving skills to take with you anywhere and everywhere as long as you've got the tools! His approach was relaxed and informal whilst being jam packed with useful tips and techniques, and made everyone feel as ease with the new processes. Would highly recommend, I've since got my own knives and can resist an evening spent whittling!"

Ailsa reviewed: Two person 'Have a Bash' at Blacksmithing course in Shropshire

"My sister in law and I were treated to a day at Jake’s workshop to spend the day learning about and turning our hands to blacksmithing. We both had a fantastic time, Jake took the time to explain everything and demonstrate what we’d be doing, and helped us along the way as needed. Lunch was very pleasant, and well needed after finishing our pokers. Afterwards it was straight back to the workshop to craft our knives. Overall it was a really enjoyable day, and we both said that we’d definitely like to do it again!"

Tony Laws reviewed: Make you own fan bird

"Spent yesterday at the wooden spoon carving course at the Sill. A thoroughly enjoyable experience! All the steps were clearly described and demonstrated by Steve and with only five participants there was ample time for Steve to give one to one help and assistance where required. If you like working with wood then, like me, you will find green wood spoon carving an enjoyable new challenge and potentially an absorbing pastime!"

Val Blake reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"A delightful weekend. It commenced with a chat to say why we were all there, so we then felt we were pals who all knew each other. Relaxing at tea breaks and lunch was then with a company of friends. Our stonecarving was aided by Sebastian's experience and excellent knowledge and all the tools we could possibly need were to hand. His tuition was excellent. We all produced our own special work - a sheer pleasure to see at the end of a most enjoyable and absorbing weekend. I would recommend it to everyone."

"Two days of a great stone carving course in a warm and friendly stidio. I loved the place on the edge of the Cotswolds. Sebastian's expert but easy going tuition helped me get the satsifaction of bringing a picture out of a piece of stone. Highly recommended, a wonderful and rewarding way to spend two days of your life. Suitable for the complete beginner or those who already had some experience of stone carving."

Robert McArthur reviewed: Pole Lathe Bowl Turning - Your First Bowl

"What fantastic course... To be able to start with half a log and turn it into a useful bowl in a few hours and without any pressure was very satisfying. Adrian knows his craft and is willing to share his vast knowledge and help you along the way. I thought I might struggle with the treadling versus my old plumbers knees but there are plenty of breaks and a filling lunch. I'd recommend to anyone."

Olinda Everett reviewed: Experimental Printmaking inspired by Mid Century Design in Derbyshire

"I return to Liz’s workshops with great anticipation and delight: she shares generously her knowledge, she encourages and most valued of all, she fosters a sense of confidence in my own ideas that makes the day an entirely satisfying experience. The studio is immaculate and always inspiring any time of year: I think the views without and the serenity within are part of the delight. This workshop was full of learning and fun, we had very good company and a clear sense of purpose and structure for the day."
