Julia reviewed: Georgie's needle felting animals

"Looking through this website I came across Georgie's needle-felting courses. I attended a course just before Christmas 2018 and came away with a sweet little ballerina mouse, with enormous ears. (My choice!) It was the first time I had done needle-felting but everything was provided, including clear instruction, great encouragement and lovely coffee and cake. Such a lovely morning. I really love my little mouse and am so pleased that Georgie is doing more courses - can't wait to sign up for my next one!"

Georgies Felted Friends responded:

"Thank you very much for your message Julia and I’m so glad you enjoyed my Needle Felting course last year. Do let me know if you would like to make a friend for your beautiful little ballerina mouse and join another course. Kind regards Georgie"

Genny L. Blandford reviewed: Bespoke Contemporary Fine Art Encaustic Wax Workshop.

""I have just spent a wonderful morning with Lyn in her studio on Portland. Lyn's studio is in a great location and the welcome she gave was so warm and motivating. There was an impressive and unlimited collection of pigments and materials at my disposal. Added to which, Lyn's enthusiasm for encaustic art and her willingness to share her skills, made for a really worthwhile experience. Lyn was intuitive about when I needed her at my side to demonstrate and make suggestions, and when I needed to test out the waxes on my own. Now I have tried encaustic art for the first time, I shall definitely return for another session. Highly recommended!""

Sarah reviewed: 2 Day Leather Practical Skills Course

"This two day workshop was brilliant. As a beginner to leather work it was both informative and fun. Richard gave us loads of advice and tips and we got to practice the different techniques with his expert guidance. There to lend a hand when we got stuck, or to show us an easier way to do something that would otherwise have taken a lot longer to learn by ourselves. I had a brilliant time and am thoroughly chuffed with what we made and have had loads of compliments. I can highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in working with leather craft. Thank you Richard!"

David Thomas reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"An excellent course with superb tuition. This was my first time in a forge and over a period of two days I progressed from the basics of forging a taper on the end of a piece of bar to creating a bunch of poppies. The outcome was way above my expectations and has impressed many. I gained hands on experience of a wide range of tools and techniques in a guided and supportive environment. I now have the 'blacksmith bug' and plan to return in the new year. Thoroughly recommended."

Fransham Forge responded:

"Thank you for your comments - we are glad you enjoyed your days with us."

Anna Thorne reviewed: One day stained glass workshop London for beginners and enthusiasts

"This was such a rewarding course. Having never carried out any glass work before Tejal's pace and level of teaching was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed the creative aspect of completing my butterfly over 2 half days and was perfect in giving me confidence to return and complete additional pieces of work for gifts. Tejal's studio is a little haven of tranquillity that facilitates the creative process and I am looking forward to returning to make more beautiful pieces of work in my found new hobby. I have a little list of items I hope to accomplish in 2020."

GlassSeasons responded:

"thanks Anna, appreciate your feedback."

L Maddison reviewed: Art classes for adults at Ushaw College. 7 Week Course

"I hadn’t done any art since school so when I left work I wanted a class to re-learn the skills. I joined at the beginning of 2019 with some apprehension however this was quickly alleviated by the friendly and informal nature of the class. I am now on my third term and cannot speak highly enough about Jayne, the teacher, and Michael who organises. They are both very friendly and helpful and throughout the three terms I have learnt a range of new skills, experimented with all kinds of mediums and I have seen improvements in my own work as well as others. Jayne and Michael are only to keen to help, nothing is a problem for them and they praise and encourage the whole class. Recently the classes have displayed some of their artwork at different venues and the feedback has been very complimentary, this in itself reflects the value of Jayne and Michael. I thoroughly enjoy the course and I have signed for the next term, I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks again to Jayne and Michael , plus the lovely setting."

"I booked a morning taster with my friend Jackie, this was a first time for the both of us and we were hooked! Jack was a great teacher and had lots of patience for us newbies, he was also very subtle at making slight corrections to our pieces on the wheel so that we had some lovely pieces at the end. Can't wait to receive them soon! Thanks Jack! Hopefully we will be back again soon for a longer course!"

Giles Flowitt-Hill reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I had an excellent day learning woodturning with Mark on Saturday. Mark is a great teacher and very patient. I only had a very limited experience of woodturning (some at school years ago, and a little messing around on my own), but following the day with Mark, I feel confident to continue safely on my own, with hopes of actually making something! Highly recommended!"

Liz Cooper reviewed: Hammered/ stamped silver ring workshop

"I attended a hammered ring workshop with Karen. The session was for around 3 hours and thoroughly enjoyable. Just the right amount of tuition and support to allow you to make a fantastic hammered ring. I was so thrilled to walk away wearing a ring I had made and couldn't stop showing it off. Karen was very patient and gave clear instructions throughout the session. She clearly has a high level of expertise and experience and her passion for silversmithing is evident. Would 100% recomend this course."
