Karen beaney reviewed: Painting animals in watercolour

"Great teacher. Liz provides a well-structured and simple approach to watercolour. All materials are provided. Liz demonstrates different techniques to try and then allows the individual to try out all the techniques before creating a plan then final piece of artwork on whatever size paper the artists is comfortable with. ‘I am always delighted with the results no matter which art class I do with Liz. Highly recommended for any level of experience and for those artists who would like to loosen up their style."

Liz Chaderton Artist responded:

"Thank you so much Karen for the lovely comments. I am glad you enjoyed it. I loved your final hare - did you do any more to it at home? Will see you again soon!"

Sue reviewed: Beginners spoon carving taster session

"Good tutor, clear instructions, interesting and great with the sticking plasters. Yes this was a challenging course, even more so for those of us who had never handled a wood carving knife before, but we all finished with good looking wooden spoons ready to finish and oil at home. I was surprised at how much we did achieve in the two hours. I hope to repeat the course again to build on what I achieved this time."

Jane Edlington reviewed: Bring Your Own Upholstery Project - 1 day workshop - Week Days

"An amazing course and cannot recommend it enough! I went along for a one day taster session with a telephone table seat pad to cover. Sarah is both very knowledgable & a super teacher. She has the knack of clearly explaining & demonstrating every little step but then ensures the participant actually does the work. I finished the day with a really professionally covered seat pad that has freshened up a classic piece of furniture wonderfully. Class sizes are super small and Sarah is always there to help when needed. I learned loads!! After the course I’ve been able to independently complete a couple of similar projects. I’m now addicted and will be back for the 5 day course with a bigger project!! Additionally..... the setting is lovely: a beautiful farm house that’s immaculately furnished. Lunch was a delight.... not just the food but the company. Most definitely a highly recommended day!"

Tracy reviewed: Small needle felted animals or pictures

"We had a great day creating a bag using the wet felting technique with Barbara. The course is well structured and gives you plenty of range to experiment with colours and designs. Barbara is very easy to get along with and provides clear information. We came away from the day with a great bag and ideas to use the technique again. Lunch is also provided, alongside all materials and the course tuition, so it makes the course good value for money. We hope to return for the needle felting course in the not too distant future."

Feltworld - Creative Arts responded:

"Than you Tracy, I look forward to teaching you again...with your beautiful bag :-)."

Iain Moffat reviewed: Alien spoon carving

"Had a really fun and informative day with Alan. His tutoring is patient, knowledgeable and articulate. The small group of four is an ideal size with plenty of time for personal tuition as well as group instruction. The other three on the course added to the enjoyment and the day, unfortunately, seemed to fly by! We all left with a spoon of some sort and an enthusiasm to have another go on our own. The day was punctuated by tea, coffee, fabulous home baking and a cooked lunch. To be recommended."

Tracy Mac reviewed: Make a silver ring: one-to-one workshop

"I received this course as a gift from friends. I enjoy making things and love silver jewellery, so I was very excited about the opportunity to learn how to make a ring. Angela was fantastic to deal with when booking the lesson, and a great teacher. She explained and demonstrated each step, and supports you to do the work yourself so your ring is truly your own! I found the session interesting and fun -- and I have a fab ring to keep. Thank you, Angela."

Karen Gamble reviewed: Silver earrings workshop

"My Mum and I attended the silver earring workshop just before Christmas. Unlike my Mum I’m not particularly arty but wanted to try something different. Joanne was so wonderful all day, teaching things clearly- supporting and assisting with the trickier bits and we both came away with a collection of earrings I can barely believe we made ourselves. Couldn’t recommend the day enough- loved it!"

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"Hello Karen, you and your Mum both made some lovely earrings! I hope they have been admired as you've worn them! Thank you for coming to the workshop."

I will be back for the next wool painting course very soon."

"Our tutor was welcoming. He gave clear explanations throughout the length of the course. The demonstrations were also clear. He has a nice sense of humour. I much appreciated the continuous individual attention and constructive help and encouragement. I would have liked the course to have been a bit longer to enable me to achieve a better finish to my spoon, though others seemed to be happy with theirs in the time allotted."
