Polly Triggol reviewed: Introduction to natural dyeing, Crispin Hall, Street, Somerset

"The teacher's preparation was wonderful, everything supplied for our natural dyeing day . So much information was imparted both by sampling the various dyes in practice, understandable verbal explanations, and written sheets to take home. Also provided a folder to keep all our samples in ."

Stuart Kingston reviewed: Forest workshop

"I was gifted a voucher for the sculptural green wood carving for my 40th birthday, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. As a hobbyist woodworker, I'm normally striving for straightness, squareness and precision. Green wood carving is more abstract yet more forgiving, allowing a more flexible and intuitive approach to creativity. There is great satisfaction in chipping away at the work-piece and seeing the shape slowly emerge and evolve. The day itself was relaxed and friendly, with a wide variety of people - individuals, couples and families - sharing the experience, with a roaring campfire nearby and a plentiful supply of tea. We also had the opportunity to help plant a new crop of willows to help improve and develop the site."

"What an amazing day! Loved every single thing about the whole event. Lindsey is a patient and inspirational teacher whilst maintaining a lovely calming and relaxing atmosphere. And I really felt I had gained all the basic knowledge to start out on my own now. There is an amazing range of materials available, everything you need and much more. And I know pride comes before a fall, but...I adore my own handmade piece ??? Thank you so much Lindsey, an absolute pleasure of a day x"

"My friend kindly treated me to a fused glass taster workshop for my birthday. We arrived uncertain about what to expect, but Julie was so welcoming and a great teacher. Her introduction was clear and informative, and under her expert tuition we created two wonderful glass pictures each, which we are both really proud of and which serve as a lovely reminder of a gorgeous day together. Thanks so much Julie!"

Luke van de Wiel reviewed: Green wood stool making weekend

"The course was one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done. George is very patient and relaxed. You can either ask as many questions as you like and get as much help as you like or just be alone with your thoughts as you're carving. I expected to be making something really basic and rickety looking but they are really sturdy, tidy looking products. Everyone I've shown it to has been pleasantly surprised. The food provided was fantastic too. A word of warning for anyone staying overnight in the yurt in the woods: The yurt itself is very comfy and warm, everything else is very basic; by which I mean no running water. If, like me, you enjoy being in nature then it is the most fantastic thing ever, otherwise, request the yurt in the farmyard."

"I brought my Granddaughter as a treat for her birthday. What a fabulous bonding day for the both of us. Wendy explained everything very clearly from beginning to end and had immense patience. Learning to cut glass I found quite frightening to start with, however Wendy inspires confidence and we soon thoroughly enjoyed cutting different size pieces. Creating our own wall hanging was immense fun. A thoroughly enjoyable day."
