Melissa reviewed: Forest workshop

"I booked the wood carving for my boyfriend and I, as it is something he has always wanted to try. The experience was great and it was nice to take a day out of London to be surrounded by nature. We all chose a big piece of green wood and had the opportunity to create whatever we wanted using all of the tools available. There were two knowledgable guys walking around to help with anything and they were both very friendly so I didn't mind asking 'stupid' questions. One thing to be aware of is there isn't much structure to the day, which I think suits people who are a bit more experienced and want to spend hours carving their own project. Because I've never done wood carving before I would have preferred some structured 'how to' sections to the day for people wanting to learn the basics. It's quite pricey so it would be nice to walk away having learnt different techniques. All in all it was great and I recommend!"

Bethan Roberts reviewed: Dungaree Making with Twin Made One-to-One

"Ah what a workshop. I literally loved every second. Charlotte's energy and excitement is so motivational. She is incredibly patient, encouraging and fun. She makes you want to learn. She tells you what to do, steps back, let's you get stuck in and if you're struggling she jumps straight in to help and shows you how to fix things yourself. Before we even got started she was there to offer advice on what material to get. She even helped me source some that I had my eye on from a previous workshop I'd seen that she'd done. The pattern is made to fit your measurements and you get to take it home with you so that you can keep on creating. I had so much fun making my dungarees and left literally bouncing out of the room with happiness with the final product. For anyone that wants an easy going and inspirational time crafting, I would 100% recommend visiting Twin Made."

Gareth reviewed: Highland stool making course - Scottish Highlands

"What a lovely way to spend a weekend! Logie Steading is such a tranquil location and this back to nature course using greenwood reflected the atmosphere. Easy going and calm instruction by Aaron who has such a passion for working with wood. I am a complete novice at furniture making and felt a great sense of achievement with my finished product. Real nice chatty company with laughs over tea and biscuits, the soup was out of this world! One final afterthought ….this was the first time in years I haven't seen people stuck to their mobile phones ! An occasional photo or video and that was it. Great. Ladies and Gents you can escape social media for a few hours!!"

Kate Rattray. Mosaics reviewed: Fun with mosaic mix

"I have just spent a lovely day with Kate at one of her Mosaic workshops. I have always admired her beautiful work so it was a great chance to learn a few of her tricks. There were 7 of us in her workshop and the creativity was flowing and we were buzzing! There were lots of tiles, glass, tesserae etc for us to choose from in a rainbow of colours plus all the cutting equipment so we only had to bring an apron and an idea. I would recommend one of her courses for both beginners and for those like myself with some experience. But be careful, once you’ve tried on you will be addicted like me! Have fun. Wendy"

Chris Bell reviewed: Wildlife photography weekend

"Spent an informative and enjoyable two days on the wildlife photography weekend at the West Country Wildlife Photography Centre. Not only was Sid from Going Digital a really good, knowledgeable and patient tutor, but the access offered to a range of UK wildlife that otherwise would be difficult to see was excellent. A range of photographic techniques were explained and explored, with adequate 1:1 tuition. Can thoroughly recommend!"

Going Digital Devon and Cornwall responded:

"Thank you for your feedback Chris, your kind words and recommendation are greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing you again very soon on another workshop"

Patricia Bainbridge reviewed: Beginners spoon carving course

"The course was well paced, well presented and very enjoyable. The numbers being small, meant everyone had good support and supervision. Instructions were clear and demonstrated well. It was rewarding to go through each of the steps from block of wood to a spoon to be proud of. I would recommend the course to others and look to book on similar courses in the future."

Hilary reviewed: Needle felting course with FURZIE at Trumpet Corner Tea Rooms, Ledbury, Herefordshire

"Brilliant felting day.... Michelle was an amazing teacher who had patience and encouragement for us all as previous non felters. Felting is great fun and I adored the hare that I made - it's right, they do take on a personality of their own after a while!! The food was lovely too - soup and sandwiches and mid afternoon, a cream tea... we were all spoiled. I would highly recommend this as a day doing crafting - its creative and fun."

Amber Verona reviewed: Dungaree Making with Twin Made One-to-One

"I recently did the dungaree making course at Twin Made and found it to be a great experience. Sophie is a fabulous teacher who puts you totally at ease and is happy to work through what you might consider to be the dumbest question without making you feel like you're wasting her time asking it. I left the session with the comfiest pair of dungarees, and awesome pattern and the confidence to try my hand at making another pair - highly recommended!"
