"A day very well spent under the excellent tuition of Hamish. I learned a great deal about the techniques, tools and skills to start me on the journey of leather work and would definitely recommend this course to anyone with an interest in doing more with leather. Hamish is an extremely knowledgeable and passionate teacher with a wealth of practical tips and information on the history of leather working. I'm already planning my next project and looking forward to another course with Hamish in the future!"

Phil Hodgson reviewed: TIG welding day

"This was the second course run by Natalie I have attended. Both were absolutely brilliant. She is an excellent instructor and really knows her metal work and welding. She has a great set up in her workshop, with individual bays each having air extraction and other safety features. I learned much more than I expected on both courses. From the Saturday welding day I felt I learned how to use a variety of welding methods effectively and safely to make joints in a variety of metals. Very highly recommended."

Sharon reviewed: Two day leather work course - bag making

"If you are thinking of doing a leather work course, this is the one for you. Whether you are looking to just have some fun with a new craft or you want to change career you will learn everything you need from the very knowledgeable Jason. He is an excellent teacher and the spacious workshop is filled with all the tools and accessories you could ever need. In terms of COVID 19, there is plenty of space, your own hand sanitiser and tools, lunch and drinks are still provided in a hygienic way. I was a complete novice and came home with a fantastic bag that has been much admired."

Andrea Hobbs reviewed: Hand spinning for beginners at Cartmel Handspun

"Hi Elaine I just wanted to say such a huge thank you for a great day yesterday. So informative and full of ‘oh I get it’ moments for me! I loved that the way you explained things made such sense to my brain - and I really enjoyed our chats in between too. It’s always nice to meet a fellow crafter of beautiful yarns and things, as well as a crafter of peacefulness! I was onto my wheel this morning and cleaned things up as you suggested and gave it some tlc. It’s looking more cheerful and less grungy! I’ve got more spinning and fleece sorting planned for this afternoon and over the next few days. And I have some raw fleece soaking in rainwater outside...so I think we can conclude that you worked your magic and my confidence and enthusiasm is restored. I can’t thank you enough and hope to see you again for more learning at some point when I’m ready for more! Very best Andrea"
