Craig Whilding reviewed: Pottery Taster Day

"My wife and I had a lovely afternoon throwing pots with Joy in the pottery. Good clear instruction was given on the steps to correctly throw a pot and then we got onto the wheels and onto trying it ourselves with Joy giving advice and tips as we progressed. We got to choose our 4 best pots each to be glazed and fired and due to our distance fro the pottery Joy accommodated posting them out to us a couple of weeks after our session. They're now placed around the house as a pen pot, cactus holder and a few other things. Would highly recommend. (Our session was initially planned for April but postponed due to covid to July. We had excellent communication with Joy to sort the rearrangement and distancing protocols then in place at The Pottery to proceed)"

Potting Shed Studio responded:

"Thank you! You both did really well and I hope all goes well with your new addition to the household."

Miriam reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Batik textile workshop in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"Just spent one of the best days ever at the batik workshop! Melanie is a fantastic teacher, learning the technique was fascinating and really satisfying to create colourful pieces to take home. A lot of thought and care has gone into making these workshops safe and I felt absolutely comfortable after being quite worried about attending any workshops at the moment. Just a perfect day from start to end - I’ll definitely be booking again - can’t recommend highly enough! Thank you ?"

Chloe Halsall reviewed: One day silver jewellery making in Worcestershire.

"My mum bought me a voucher for this course for my birthday as it is something completely different and she knew I would enjoy it. I love jewellery so it was brilliant to be able to learn how to make something and also to be able to keep the finished product! Jonathan is a fantastic teacher and he is very knowledgeable. Jonathan was helpful and he let me decide what I wanted to make and was able to give advice on how the best way would be for me to make my ring. The class I attended was Jonathan's first one since lockdown but it was as if he hadn't been away from teaching. I would definitely recommend Jonathan as a teacher and the course as a very satisfying experience and a lovely day out, I would love to do another one soon :)"

Salt Way Silver responded:

"Thank you for your very kind words : ) It was a pleasure to meet you. Good luck with your future jewellery making plans. Jonathan"

Emma & Charlotte reviewed: Silver Clay Jewellery for Beginners

"My sister and I loved every minute of Jo's silver clay workshop. Jo has a lovely teaching manner, and guided us expertly on the composition of our designs to achieve truly unique outcomes. We very much look forward to visiting Jo's workshop again in the future."

Jo Hunter Wearable Art responded:

"Thank you for your feedback. I think you both deserve a medal for firing silver in such hot weather! If you can achieve what you did in those conditions, making pieces in 'normal' temperatures will be a doddle at home!"

Paul Bennett reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"I can't recommend this course enough. My 19 year old daughter and I were trying something completely new and didn't know what to expect as this was a joint birthday gift. In a lovely setting and with Jo's excellent tuition and gentle guidance we both left clutching hares to be proud of. The day was well planned and flowed smoothly, everything needed was always to hand. Jo's garden and studio provide a relaxing environment and we quickly lost track of time as we focused our newly discovered creative talents! Many thanks to Jo for a truly wonderful day."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Paul - it was lovely meeting you and your daughter. You both made fabulous sculptures. I'm looking forward to seeing photo's of the Dog and Huggy Hare you will be making at home using the armatures you made in the afternoon. Jo x"

Diana Heather Kirkham reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"I had a wonderful experience constructing a hare under Jo's guidance. The one day course was structured, informative, well led and most of all, FUN. I came away satisfied and amazed at how much I had learned about a process completely new to me. Not only did I come away with a beautiful sculpture, Jo supplied a pack containing a felt base plus a small pot of paint and brush in case touch ups were needed. A complete package and good value. Thank you."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you so much Diana ;-) Your hare's ears were fabulous! I love the way that no two people's sculptures end up anything the same - they are always individual and lovely. Thank you for appreciating the after-care kit! I look forward to seeing you & Karen at the Abstract Art workshop. Prepare for another adventure ;-) Jo x"

Kate reviewed: Box making weekend in Cumbria

"What a fantastic course! With an abundance of ppe and measures in place to keep us safe in the time of COVID-19, each of the four participants was able to learn the woodworking skills required and put them into practice to create a truly beautiful box. With his expertise and a wealth of patience from Mark, each step of the process was clearly explained before we were let loose in his well-equipped workshop. For a well-spent and rewarding weekend in the beautiful surrounds of Cumbria, I wholeheartedly recommend this course."

"A productive and thoroughly enjoyable week in the woods making a Welsh Stick Chair, Ben's expertise and patience ensured that all attendees walked away with a chair to be proud of. Tina reviewed: Pot throwing on the wheel for a Half Day

"I booked the 3 hour course as a treat, and what a great day it was. Richard had everything set up in the garden undercover, all spaced out and adhering to the covid rules. He expertly showed us what to do and we had lots of goes at trying to make a bowl or vase, some good but most not so good. It was a really fun messy half day, and would recommend to all."

Potterydayz responded:

"Thanks for your review Tina, a pleasure to see you here at Potterydayz. See you again soon."

Annie reviewed: One-to-One Private workshop

"An inspirational one-day workshop in a creative and inspiring atmosphere, led by a very talented, patient tutor. A whole new skill set for me to learn but I produced two pieces of work that have been much admired! Re: Covid-19: Hand sanitising stations and PPE is supplied and all tools, cleaned prior to us attending are for your exclusive use which was very reassuring."

Debs reviewed: Two day stained glass workshop - lead panels or garden sculpture

"I’ve just attended my second glass workshop with Gigha, this being traditional lead work. It was an immense 2 days, quite hard work but well worth the effort. I am thrilled with the garden panel I have produced under her expert tuition. For those worried about COVID restrictions, Gigha has everything, and more, in place to make this a truly safe environment In which to learn and work. No detail has been left out. Individual workstations, tools and protective PPE is there for everyone to use. She even serves you your own tailor made food at lunchtime instead of the buffet which was on my last course. If you’ve not booked or rebooked one postponed because of Lockdown, you can do with full confidence because of the hard work she has done to enable her to offer her courses once more. The leaded glass two days was just brilliant. Highly recommended. I can’t wait to do the next one!"

Helen Trevitt Kelty reviewed: Boat making day using the technique of sgraffito on coloured glass

"I'd been interested in learning to glass paint for a while and found this course during lockdown. I attended the course as soon as the restrictions were lifted. Brian's keen attention to the social distancing protocols meant that I felt safe to spend the day in the chapel — a light, airy and well equipped space, perfect for the class. Brian has a relaxed, patient and informative teaching style and I would highly recommend a day in the chapel studio to create some amazing pieces of art. I now feel confident to have a go at scraffito glass painting myself and plan to go back to the chapel for another course soon."

Caroline Channing reviewed: Boat making day using the technique of sgraffito on coloured glass

"Brian is an excellent tutor and his studio is a beautiful and inspiring setting for learning. The course is ideal for anyone - Brian demonstrates the techniques very clearly so that you can produce your own pieces of work with confidence. I had no previous experience of sgraffito or glass painting and thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and was very pleased with the pieces I made. Thanks to Brian I now feel I can experiment with the techniques and make progress on my own. I would highly recommended this course to anyone interested in creating beautiful effects with glass."

Janet Staniland reviewed: Taster pottery throwing lesson (various dates)

"Booked this back in March as a birthday present for my husband. Lockdown meant we had to postpone it but it was well worth the wait. Jack is an excellent tutor, friendly and informative. There were five of us on the course, all spread out to meet social distancing guidelines. We each produced three pots during a very absorbing and enjoyable afternoon. We'd recommend it without hesitation!"

"What a wonderful weekend I have had! Elaine is a wonderful teacher and the course is so informative, I can’t quite believe how much I achieved in two days! I can highly recommend this course, I have come home with such enthusiasm to get started on my wheel. Although COVID 19 is ever present, Elaine had all measures in place to keep us safe. Thank you Elaine and one day soon I will show you my knitted masterpieces!!"
