Description
This 2 day practical hands on course combines some basic woodworking and traditional(ish) upholstery to make a functional, decorative, and personal footstool. Day one will be the measuring, marking out, cutting and assembling of the frame, using a combination of hand tools machines and other workshop equipment. We leave the frame overnight to set the adhesive ready for the upholstery on day two. The upholstery is a multi-layer process which gives a strong and durable covering to the frame. The top cover should be the piece of medium weight fabric no less than 80cm square that you have brought with you to give the uniqueness to your footstool.
What's included in the price?
All materials for the wooden frame and the upholstery except the top cover of medium weight upholstery fabric which participants supply. (If you forget the material, we always have something in the fabric box). All tools and equipment are supplied and each participant will be issued with ear defenders, safety glasses, gloves and a dust mask to be used as required during the two days. These are yours to be taken away at the end of the course with your footstool. Tea and coffee are available throughout the days, and there is a supermarket with a café (every little helps) a couple of minutes walk from the studio for lunch if you fancy.
