Wouldn't you love to create your own fabric and then make it into a unique piece of clothing? For you or as a gift. Spend a lovely morning in a beautiful barn conversion studio in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. This workshop runs from 10am until 2pm. Refreshments are available. Learn how to nuno felt with Katy and make your own unique cowl / neck warmer. Nuno felting is the process of making a new type of fabric by combining a loose weave fabric with wool fibres. We will be using wool & silk fibres and felting them onto a lightweight habotai silk fabric. You can sew the seam later when the fabric is dry or Katy can sew it for you. You will craft a very unique piece of clothing that no-one else will have. Katy will teach you how to felt Merino fibres together with water, soap and agitation. You can choose any combination of colours and add your own patterns / decoration. Once finished you get to take your beautiful cowl home with you. Katy will also supply you with a plastic bag and worksheet. Ample free parking. No steps - wheelchair access.

Maker
Katy is a feltmaker, felt artist and teacher. She has taught Art, Design & Technology and Textiles in secondary schools for 24 years. She now runs her own art / craft business. Katy offers a variety of workshops, attends Fairs and exhibits. She is a member of the International Feltmakers Association.
