Porcelain Clay Pottery at Cowshed Creative in the Lake District

Cowshed Creative in the Lake District runs a wide selection of Arts and Craft workshops. We are based on a stunning Lakeland farm near Windermere and Kendal. On this course you will learn some simple and effective techniques for printing onto clay using lace, a variety of fabrics and natural materials. You will create textures and patterns in your clay work which you can use to create bespoke plaques, jewellery, bowls and tea-lights. You will be guided through each process to enable you to create individual pieces in your own unique style. In the afternoon you can to introduce colour into your work by painting with under glazes. The work will be dried and fired and is generally ready within 2-3 weeks for collection or posting (for a small charge). Complete beginners welcome. Nik Hunter-Dale began as a ceramicist, making slab built work to wear or for decoration in the home. Since studying at Kendal College, she now aims to combine these aesthetic pieces with more thought-provoking creations. She shows work in craft fairs and also delivers workshops from her own studio At Cowshed Creative, we run an extensive range of art, craft and heritage workshops in our beautifully converted art studio. What's included in the price?

Includes some great tuition, a stunning venue, tea and coffee throughout the day, and a home-made tray bake. You need to bring your own packed lunch. There is a fridge and microwave if needed. Additional material fee of £10 includes all materials, plus firing. Work can be collected from tutors studio approx 5 miles from Kendal, 2-3 weeks after workshop. There is an additional fee of £5 if you are unable to collect and would like your work to be posted to you. All equipment is provided.
